The ‘PEAKY BLINDERS’ sequel series will pick up after the events of the film, with plans for two new six-episode seasons. “Once again, it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham Blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride,” says Steven Knight. via @netflix

@DavQuinn I'm not a religious guy, but Pinker does choose extremes to make his point. A mixed, tolerant unified society is the best one. It sounds simple, rarely is Some of my best mates are atheists and agnostic but also Christian. It's often about temprament, personality and maturity.

Religious practice promotes all sort of indispensable pro-social behaviour such as: putting others first; forgiving others; getting married; having children. It is associated with improved mental health. It promotes community.
The Free Press@TheFP

Does a more religious society make a better society? @SAPinker says no: Would you rather live in Afghanistan or Scandinavia? “The more religious the society, the worse the problems are.” @DouthatNYT disagrees: You can balance the best of faith and modernity. “What we should wish as Americans is to be neither Afghanistan nor Scandinavia—but to be the United States of America.”

Are they really World Class like everyone wants to believe? I dont think they're anywhere near a World Class level. Danso on his day is as good as both of them even when they're at their brilliant best, is Danso considered World Class?

@CinemaTweets1 It's awful, and reinforced my decision to ditch the series years ago. Acting was not the problem. Piss poor plot. Overuse of music to the point of it becoming a music video. Awful ending. First ten minutes were good. I was hopeful of something more deep and restrained.

My Peaky Blinders review is up & as I wrote in my analysis, I love this film. It really hit the spot for those of us who missed Tom Shelby. It also contributed to a really memorable weekend for Cinema. Cillian Murphy just gave us another awesome film to start off 2026.

@JohnJCarvill Mick is a pinko Commie I saw him wearing a red beret once. Ken O' Flynn represents all that is good and kind in modern Ireland. No cynicism there whatsoever. Mick loves a good hammer and sickle. I believe he doesn't like Trump. Oh, pure evil. Holy God!!

A hit piece below by Mick Clifford consists almost entirely of left wing innuendo presented as fact. - Ken O’Flynn’s concerns on immigration, LGBTQ+, Women’s rights and NGOs are held by a very large, if not a majority, of Irish people. - Clifford tries to argue that there is no evidence of a link between crime and immigration. If there is no link why not produce the statistics? - Clifford suggests that attendance at Irl Forum and an event organised by the Women’s Coalition is somehow negative. The former was addressing the vast gap which has opened up between the electorate and the establishment in Ireland and the latter addressed the deep concern felt by most women about men entering their private spaces. - Clifford is an unapologetic socialist. He is tapped into a worldview that denies the right of nations to look after the interests of their own people first, that constantly denies reality and science, that thrives on fake victimhood, that hates tradition, particularly the Catholic Church. I wonder where a deep dive into his (Clifford’s) writings, associations, finances and family would lead. Everything he writes is left wing propaganda and should be viewed as such.

Time for RTE to replace the old housewife contest with a careerwoman one. Future winners can then look back and admit they didn’t find their careers so satisfying after all and wished they had devoted more time to other things, including their families. ionainstitute.ie/housewife-of-t…

The growth in Electric vehicles this decade has had less impact on consumption of oil products than one might have thought, merely halting the rise of diesel consumption.

This list looks impressive, but only a tiny fraction are actually climate scientists, most from unrelated fields. Independent checks show 1–3% have relevant expertise. Some names are left on after death. 99% of climate scientists on Google scholar show #CLIMATEchange is real.
