Jim Abbott's amazing no-hitter has to be up there with one of the most underrated athletic achievements of all time. I mean, even within the baseball community, it's not talked about a lot at all. And this was against what would become one of the most dominant offensive line ups in the mid to late 90s. Lofton, Baerga, Belle, Ramirez Thome, Alomar jr.

@riger1984 Duren has no concept of boxing out and positioning. It’s quite maddening, but he plays like a high school kid who is bigger than everyone else, and tries to rely on athleticism. You can also see it in how he falls for every pump fake.

Not to pile on Jalen Duren, but in 56 minutes of basketball over the last 2 games he has 6 total rebounds. 4 in game 3 2 in game 4 How is that even possible?

Underrated truth: You’d probably be more successful if you were delusionally confident. Most MLB players are.

@TeamSelectMI @MtdewF Their starting pitching is ranked 4th in WAR right now. Their RP is 21st. Their defense is ranked anywhere from the bottom half to dead last, depending on the category.

The Tigers closed last season by going 28-41. They are now 18-22. That's 46-63 in their last 109 games. The sample size is growing.

Please don’t stand on a hill and defend your position if it’s highly inaccurate. :) The Tigers were rated as the #1 rotation headed into the season, and had 3 proven bullpen in tow. In your defense, you can’t build around Tork, Greene and Carp. All three have flawed swings and plate approach.

@TeamSelectMI @MtdewF Also, to note, the starting pitching has been fine up to this point. Pretty sure Top 5-10 in ERA. It's the manic hitting, the poor bullpen, the bad defense and the lack of execution that is burying them right now.

@JermaineCurtis Statistically, xwoba and xba are certainly measurable and have higher conversion when EV is higher, however training and measuring success by ‘over swinging’ is a direct path to bad at bats.

Sitting here, watching the Angels get absolutely thumped again, I am struggling to comprehend how Mike Trout, one of the best players this millennium, has never won a playoff game - and that is likely his fate. It is quite possibly the saddest statistic in pro sports history...
