@Classic_Engine @DrBradJohnson If typical living costs average 4k a month on the low end, that's 48k a year. You make 50k-60k a year before taxes. After taxes say you have around 40k. You are producing negative equity working. You can babysit 20/hour and make 38k a year tax free. Why would anyone teach?

@DrBradJohnson Are teachers underpaid: undoubtedly, yes, and there’s some correct pay increase deserved for good teachers. But I’m not convinced that pay increases solve anything other than their personal comfort.

In 1975, 22% of college students majored in education, higher than any other major. By 2015, fewer than one in 10 students are pursuing education. & with a near 50% attrition every 5 years, we have to do a better job of supporting, valuing, & paying teachers

Along with the below statement from the Republican Delegation, I have been in direct contact with the @NYCSchools Chancellor’s Office and the @NYCMayor’s office to urge them to keep schools closed tomorrow or give a remote option to students.

Hey @NYCMayor this is the front of my school. How is any bus supposed to drive down the block let alone get kids off the busses. This is a school for nuerodiverse students and we also have children in wheelchairs... How is this safe? It is impassible with two feet of snow...
