@DAOofthe10k @JaR45 @LizMair People who visit cities for major events usually partake in other activities in the area while they are visiting. Especially given there are multiple games with days of downtime in between. Such tourists riding a bike over an famous bridge is hardly a stretch of the imagination.

@cbernaut @JCPolancoNYC @NYCMayor Not what was said. The point of the post — which I agree with — is that it's easier to get the public to engage in meaningful dialogue on the issues when the Mayor goes out of his way to make his position (and the issues in general) clearer to understand.

I've been an educator for 26 years and an attorney for 20. I have to give @NYCMayor credit. He's taking complex issues, making them digestible for people to dissect. I do this in my classroom and the courtroom. Obviously, he is presenting them as he sees them. I don't agree with him on 89% of things, but who cares? This is solid pedagogy. Sometimes they're silly, though, skip the taco TikToks.

@EqualAccessNy2 @Gothamist This wasn't your space, you replied to an article. I still engaged when you got rude, because I didn't really care. YOU'RE the one who started whining about how I said my parts. But I'm just feeding the troll at this point. 😉

@TerrellFMerritt @Gothamist Just like u walked in here freely. "Remember it's social media"🤌 u entered my space. You gotta play by my rules. And if you don't like it, and what I am saying, or how I'm saying it. you could walk right back out. And go find somebody else to bitch with thanks for stopping by 😁

@EqualAccessNy2 @Gothamist You saying, "I can wipe my butt with what you think," is not a patient or respectful response to me giving a reasonable response to a conversation *you* started. If that's how you speak when you're being patient, I'll pass on continuing this.

@TerrellFMerritt @Gothamist Listen Avery Spears, don't get cute. I'm trying to be patient and respectful at the same time. Don't become an asshole because I can turn to let's just continue to keep this on the correct road.

@EqualAccessNy2 @Gothamist You definitely don't have to care what I think. But the same way you offered your opinion on a post where nobody asked you to, I replied with my own opinion. That's how social media works. I don't have any expectations of you beyond that, so if you're not interested, ok.

@TerrellFMerritt @Gothamist So let me ask you a question. I don't know you, you don't know me. So what makes me go into the business of caring that you don't agree with I can wipe my butt with what you think.

@Glen_Binnie @JefeJengibre @mornings0da I accept that some don't. I just don't see the utility of that question as "conversation". If I want to make small talk, I'd ask them about their experience. And if I was unfamiliar, I'd look it up. In my opinion, asking someone if it's North of somewhere else is just random.

A couple years ago when I didn’t know anything about NY, I met a lady from the Bronx at work. I was like that’s north of Manhattan right? And she was like “the Bronx is the Bronx. It’s its own thing” I was like ok but where is it and she simply would not tell me

@EqualAccessNy2 @Gothamist I understand what you said, I just don't agree. Similarly, you said you don't understand why someone could want OPTO, but now you don't care what/where is already done. Seems like you DO understand, but don't agree with the other side. I'll stay tuned for your statement though.

@TerrellFMerritt @Gothamist Don't worry. I'll put my full statement out. You obviously don't understand what I said. This is a stupid idea. I don't care what is already done or where or what has to be put in place Stupid is stupid, is stupid 😉 👍 #EqualAccess

@EqualAccessNy2 @Gothamist We'd have to make changes before NYC can go full one-person train operation for sure. But we already do it on some lines, it's common elsewhere, this isn't rocket science. My biggest issue: this shouldn't be state law. Leave it dealt w/ by collective bargaining as it should be.

@Gothamist I cannot understand how somebody would want a train engineer to handle all of their responsibilities plus the safety of the passengers all by themselves. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Some personal news: Today was my last day working at the @NYCCFB. The past 3 years serving as the Press Secretary for the strongest public financing system in the country has truly been a blessing and I’m thankful to the coworkers, reporters, and NYers I’ve met along the way.

@yearninquilab @ShabazzStuart This is the part that gets me. Bringing ID makes sense to me, but most people don't just have a copier these days and the libraries are closed. The walk-in sites should have a copier for this purpose.

@michelletandler @chayesmatthew Agree that they will be baked in and hotels will simply increase prices. I think I’d rather have transparent pricing and true comparison pricing. If that causes some short-term distortion, then so be it. The border-line fraud in pricing should stop.

Mayor Mamdani is banning so-called junk fees at NYC hotels — resort fees, surprise credit card holds, deposits, etc. New rule starts in a month.

@AndyLevinson2 @LauraLoomer Not uncommon. There's the act of doing a swearing in at midnight, which not every mayor does publicly (although Adams very famously did it in Times Square) — in that case they then do a public one when the sun is up. Gov. Hochul did something similar when she was sworn in.

Again @amazon truck setting up in the middle of rush hour traffic, next to completely empty metered commercial parking spots. Third Avenue and East 85th. Disgraceful that this goes ignored by the thousands of traffic agents. The congestion is manufactured.

Can someone explain to me the logical reason why anyone is against voter ID at the ballot? I just voted in New York. I didn’t need to show ID. All I needed to know was my address. Literally anyone could have shown up and voted for me. What is the liberal argument against voter id? I genuinely do not understand. How is this not a common sense thing everyone supports?
