Not one Senate Democrat showed up to work today. I have never seen anything like it in all my years in Congress.
They expect DHS employees to show up without pay while they won't even do their own jobs. Shameful. Americans should be absolutely outraged.

🚨Correction: NONE of the Senate Democrats showed up to work at the Commerce Committee meeting to pass overwhelmingly bipartisan bills. They don’t show up for work and get paid $175,000 per year! They fail to pay the salaries of DHS employees who DO show up for work! Disgrace x.com/billmelugin_/s…

Sen. Sanders: Larry Ellison, the second richest person on Earth, who is a major investor in AI, predicts an AI powered surveillance state is coming where "citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on." Your phone calls, your texts, your emails, it will be recorded if we continue the current trends.

🚨BREAKING: Border Patrol is now illegally stopping and interrogating ACTIVE DUTY U.S. MILITARY for looking like they “might not be American.”
An Air Force service member was pulled over while driving from Payson, Arizona, after being followed and racially profiled by an agent.
The agent asked if he was a U.S. citizen… he said yes, and even explained that he’s in the Air Force.
That should have been the end of it. It wasn’t.
The agent asked him AGAIN. And then escalated to asking if he was born in the United States…
That question is irrelevant. Yet, agents keep asking it like it justifies anything…
You do not have to be born in the United States to be a U.S. citizen. Naturalized citizens have the same legal status. The answer had already been given.
An American, actively serving in the Air Force, still isn’t “American enough” in the eyes of DHS.
This is what unchecked power looks like… it escalates until basic rights stop meaning anything.

AOC: Just a few years ago, Sam Altman came before congress. In a direct plea, he begged us to regulate this industry. He said that these tools were under no circumstances ready, nor should they be integrated into weapons of war. That we must impose severe regulations immediately to prevent mass layoffs and to ensure that any productivity that comes with this industry can benefit working people. Three short years later, none of that has happened

The Republican Party is telling us, with brimming confidence and zero shame, that it intends to make it harder for its opponents to vote and easier to control the outcome of elections. They are prepared to use every tool available to them to stay in power. democracydocket.com/opinion/there-…

I had an experience today that I haven't been able to shake. I was waiting in line at Walgreens behind an elderly woman who was trying to decide between different sized bags of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (what she could afford). She was rummaging around her bag looking for coupons or credits. She said her nephew was coming to visit from Virginia, and they didn't have these there, and he loved them. I asked her if I could please pay, she accepted and slowly starting walking out with the help of the Walgreens cart for support.
After I paid, I asked her if I could help her to her car, and she shared that her nephew was coming up to see her before he got deployed to the Middle East. He is in the navy. She wanted to give him his favorite treat before he left. She is of course worried.
This broke my heart. All of it. The inequity. Who we send off to wars. And who, in this case, is sending them.
We have a 5x draft dodger making these decisions. He is unbridled, undisciplined and a know it all.Today the news is likely that he will use ground troops - for what? What are they giving their lives for? This woman's nephew, and so many sons and daughters might never come home.
Please remember the human side of what is happening. I can't shake this interaction.

This is shocking but sadly not surprising given how frequently and repeatedly ICE has blatantly lied to federal courts.
The attorney and supervisor must be fired immediately for this egregious violation of the civil rights of every detainee snatched from courthouses in my district, including the 28 detainees my office helped to get released.
If you or a loved has been arrested at an immigration courthouse, please reach out to my office for assistance.

9 times. That’s how many times the @SenateGOP has BLOCKED our attempts to fully fund TSA.

Chuck Schumer should apologize to the millions of Americans forced to wait for hours at airports. Schumer is directly responsible. He cares more about helping criminal illegal aliens and appeasing the far-left than he cares about national security.
