Down won Div 3, beat Donegal & are now in Tailteann Cup. Cavan finished 6th in Div 2, lost to Monaghan and are in Sam Maguire. It should be Cavan in Tailteann Cup, not Down.

Perfect antidote to last Saturday up in the park this afternoon. The fight and heart shown in the second half would give any Wexford hurling supporter great hope for the future. Well done to these young men, their management and all involved. 💜 💛 #wexford #hurling #gaa

Brilliant comeback from Wexford minor hurlers coming from 8 down to beat Kilkenny, 1-19 to 1-17. Cormac Doyle was outstanding with 3 points from wing back, Jamie Downey was colossal in the 2nd half, Joe Tobin excellent too, scoring the goal after great work from Sean Kavanagh.

@Terrymeyler @ianoriordan Sport Ireland's anti-doping is actually pretty well funded if measured per capita. Just under 3 million Euro for a population of around 5.5 million. UKAD's OPEX is around 4 times that figure, for a population of more than 10x that of the Republic of Ireland.

@ianoriordan Why has it taken so long for them to do this? They are at least 2 years behind UKAD, which is really saying something.

“I don’t feel like I saw the Wexford hurling team. I didn’t see what was in them, didn’t see their great qualities, they seemed to be playing within themselves, lacking some kind of internal motivation to take on Kilkenny.” Diarmuid Lyng (WexHurling Pod, April ‘26) #gaa

For what it’s worth on #londonmarathon I don’t think it should be a two day event! I ran yesterday and being on the same course and moment as a sub 2 is pretty special That’s the beauty from 1:59-5+ hours we are all on the same course conditions and day It’s why it’s unique!

Anyway, some more discussion of it on our latest Spotlight, where we discuss the actual races & performances, and then devote some time to this whacky, daft new method of obtaining evidence in support of evangelical science. Starts at 23:00: podcasts.apple.com/za/podcast/bos…

Wildest thing about this (apart from the idea of credible scientific insight by TV watching) is that if you actually watch it, you see every elite athlete takes bottles at every station, 5km (15 min) apart, and drinks for 1 to 2 min. The whole "finding" is an illusion. It's wrong
Tim Noakes@ProfTimNoakes

I watched Kenya's John Korir for as much of this race as he was featured on the television screen. I didn't see him obviously ingesting 120g carbohydrate per hour (ie taking a 20g gel every 10 minutes) or drinking 250 ml of a 12% carbohydrate solution every 15 minutes - or some combination of both. And the same for the female Kenyan winner, Sharon Lokedi. According to the theory that you can only run at world class marathon pace if you ingest carbohydrate at such high rates, especially once the muscle glycogen stores are depleted, these two athletes should have progressively increased their energy intakes in the last 45-60 minutes of the race. But it seemed to me that they did the exact opposite - once they started racing and drawing away from their opponents, they seemed to show a lesser interest in drinking and more interest in focusing on running as fast as they could. Which they did. Despite their apparent lack of interest in 120g carbohydrate per hour, they sped up progressively. Perhaps I'm wrong. But it would be interesting to see some real data. @PhilipPrins11 @AKoutnik @PaulBLaursen @theplews1 @sweatscience @Brady_H @LoreofRunning1

Boston winner Joseph Korir is getting attention because some of his runs are 9:00+ min/mile. Influencers are saying, “See! You can run slow too!” They’re not appreciating that he runs 130+ miles per week! You can’t copy the pacing of elites unless you also copy their mileage…

@shane_2312 @CillDaraTimes The playing surface is a relatively new pitch. Never got a chance to breath. Too many games on it since it was opened. Similar work needed that went into Wexford Park when it was in bad shape around 2014.
