@MattWalshBlog Hollywood is lost. I was one of their biggest customers. I haven’t been to a movie theater in years.

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

@SelwynDuke @MattWalshBlog This is so ironic because its not woke at all and I'd argue that this movie is the best thing to come out of Hollywood in at least 10 years!!! So it's all for not my friend! Now that I've told you go see for yourself! You won't regret it

I have absolutely ZERO interest in watching modern entertainment, and this is the main reason why. If I wanted wokeness, I'd go to Berkeley and major in women's studies. I recommend people do what I do: If you want to watch a movie, choose an old one. They're far less decadent, anyway—and many are free on certain platforms. Join me in putting Hellywood out of business.

@MattWalshBlog That's why I just bought "Troy" (2004) on Amazon Prime. No woke bullshit and a cast of well known, famous, and talented actors and actresses who really are the genders they portray. Nolan destroyed his credibility by drinking deep of the woke Kool-aid.

@CallahanAutoCo I'm not a professional movie critic but I consider myself a movie oficionado and I'm not woke at all. I think it's the most insidious word ever introduced into the English language. Having that in mind, The Odyssey isn't woke and was one of the best movies I've ever seen!

Who is the least woke movie critic? Is there anyone with good taste and common sense we can trust?

@creation247 You really just don't want to hear anything about it being a great movie!!! Your mind has been made up and you won't see it no matter if someone with the same principles as you tells you multiple times it isn't woke at all! It's Amazing and you'll never know til you see it!

So let me get this straight: Everyone knows the reviews for The Odyssey are manipulated. The Rotten Tomatoes score is manipulated. The audience score can’t be trusted. But the moment the studio announces a huge box-office number, suddenly we’re supposed to treat Hollywood’s accounting like Scripture? Why would the same industry manufacturing every other metric suddenly become honest when it reports the one number it needs to sell the illusion of success?

@SirMaximusIX @MattWalshBlog You'll regret taking his advice on this one! I promise you! Nothing woke about this movie. In fact he might've been trolling the woke. It is Amazing and will go down as a classic just like Gladiator!! If you remember how awesome seeing Gladiator in theaters was then go see this!

I hate any and everything that is "woke" too. It's the worst word ever added to English vocabulary. This movie isn't "woke", it's Spectacular!!!

Before you can even sit back in your seat, the most controversial of these is already done for. If anything, Chris Nolan was trolling the "woke"

@MattWalshBlog I completely disagree. The three casting errors are on screen a COMBINED 14 minutes of a three hour movie. If you can’t get passed that then you have the problem not Nolan.

@FireLineFighter @MattWalshBlog Man, please watch the movie before making comments this inaccurate! I thought it was gonna be a "woke" fest too! But then I saw it and Achilles wasn't even in the movie and 30 secs in, neither is "Elle--iiiiot" Go see the movie! It is incredible!!!
