@SonnieJohnson Glorifying victimization gets more attention than glorifying achievement or progress. It's everywhere today. It's why people wrap themselves in their disabilities, while screaming that they're more than their disabilities. Individual achievement/progress have been excommunicated.

It should be noted that I've culled my following list to exclude much direct political stuff. I do engage with "both sides" enough to keep the feed thoroughly mixed. I got down to 80 that are mostly individuals or entertainment outlets/companies.

You do have 4th amendment rights that give you protections of your "person" . You also have protection against your data being sold to 3rd parties without consent.

@SecondAmendment My argument is that if you're in public you have no expectation of privacy. Full stop. Normal people are just mad they have to settle for a Flock camera instead of a real Paparazzi.

I do not care if they "reduce crime" and the argument of "if you weren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about" is some of the stankiest Orwellian BS that I've ever heard. We should not live in constant surveillance. And while we have cameras everywhere now, they are not owned and maintained by a central group. While I don't actively support tearing them down, I am not upset about it either.

JK is right on the money here about the gay rights movement. It has become all trans all the time. I watched it happen and then it cannibalized me and my lesbianism. After gay marriage in 2015, the orgs wanted to keep fundraising. I was there. We were all told this is what we are doing now and that was that. I didn’t think much of it at the time tbh because we were fed a lot of lies about transgender and loosening the “gate keeping.” Which led us to the disaster today that is self ID. Speaking out against this will cost you. Cowards need not apply.

@EllipticalMan How old are you? The fact people don't read more 300+ page books as kids, for fun, is part of the world's problems. The Hobbit is easily for 5th-7th graders. Older can enjoy it too, but it's not a difficult book. People today just don't actually like reading enough.

Yes. I read it as a child. Because it’s a children’s book. We keep lowering standards for children’s media and then wonder why kids can’t read or grasp complex concepts. Running into words you don’t know is part of the learning experience. Not an insurmountable obstacle.
