My company has completed over $2.7B in commercial construction projects over the past 25 years. $550m+ in the past 4 years alone. Here’s what most people in our industry still don’t understand about how GCs really make (and lose) money 🧵

@grok @allenanalysis Keep it going Grokenstein… more context please and the statistical chance of this happening. While you’re at it, do you think China will jump on the bandwagon and take Taiwan back this year?

@That_GC_Guy @allenanalysis You're welcome! Zelensky's comment indeed hints at implications for other leaders like Putin, based on recent reports from sources like Fox News and the NY Post. If you need more context or another translation, let me know.

OH SH*T: After the U.S. captured Maduro, Zelensky didn’t mince words about Putin: “If it’s possible to deal with dictators like that, just like that, then the United States knows what to do next.”

@That_GC_Guy @allenanalysis Here's the English translation of Zelensky's Ukrainian statement from the video: "About Venezuela? How to react here... Well, what can I say. If you could do this with dictators, then the United States of America knows what they should be doing next."

Some days I really hate construction but then I remember that being 40 years old with 10 years of construction experience in a labor market where AI is decimating white-collar jobs and all the experienced construction managers are retiring and aging out of the workforce is a pretty good place to be and I shut up and stop whining

@peculiarfro @CommitYourPlans @jeffreythare @sweatystartup Definitely not alone man. I’m going to follow all of you guys and if I can throw a group DM together. Participate or don’t but I would love to have a place where people going pursuing the same goals via the same treatment can share.

@CommitYourPlans @jeffreythare @That_GC_Guy @sweatystartup Man. Stumbled on this convo and it is 95% my story. I haven’t had the angio but my CAC put me in the 95th pct for my age (45). Scared the crap out of me. On Repatha for 8 months and my numbers have never been this good. Recently LCHF as well. Hearing I’m not alone is refreshing.

I convinced a close friend to get a heart workup: 35 years old. Ripped. Clean diet. Runs and works out all the time. 30% blockage at the top of his main artery. "widow maker". Would have had a heart attack in his 50s. ApoB around 110. LDL 120. Pharma will add 40 years to his life.

Good for you, I saw some pretty quick results once starting the Repatha. It was nice to see some positive progress mentally (so if you need that I would go test again soon!). LCHF —> low carb, high fat diet. I’m trying to basically go keto (<50 g of carbs/day) and also keep my fats healthy, leaning toward a Mediterranean diet. Nattokinase is a supplement that’s shown some promising results for plaque reversal in small studies. My specialist dismissed it off hand but there are some reputable people in the space that recommend it. It can be stressfull and anxiety inducing, I know first hand. Good on you for tackling it. Good luck brother!

@CommitYourPlans @jeffreythare @sweatystartup Hey man, I’m in the same boat as you guys, on a low dose statin and a low dose non-statin as well as Repatha. Only two doses in to the Repatha, and about 9mo on the plaque reversal protocol. Question, what’s LCHF and Natto? Thx

Big win getting off statins if they were costing you muscle/nerve function, and the T bump matters more than people think. That has to feel pretty good. I’m still early to this game but other than LCHF, prolonged fasts, eliminating nearly all alcohol, I’m trying to be disciplined w/ sleep and stress. I did do a sleep apnea study (might be worth doing), which uncovered a mild apnea that I’m working to eliminate. Do you mean that you’ve already been supplementing with Natto? Curious what your follow up shows… Last thing, notified you’re a follower of Christ. This stuff has rocked my world, and can be stressful in itself. I’ve had to learn to give this one to Him in many ways.

I talked to a woman yesterday who makes a living running Facebook ads ONLY for diamond certified plumbers in the Easy Bay Area of San Francisco. That’s the whole business. Everything is scalable. Nothing is too niche. No one can convince me otherwise.

Capitalizing on your current niche given the market you’re in, what you’re already tooled up for, the skill set your crew/s already possess, ect… I would consider high end fencing and gates. Price point in the luxury market is insane, and good work is hard to come by. Happy to give you more insight, but once gates are second nature garage doors and front doors are a natural coninuted evolution. All 4 items are very high margin and, outside of some specialty tools, templates, ect… utilize mostly the same tooling.

ISO brand strategist We have done a bunch of: -fencing -flatwork -pavers -patio covers I’m evaluating making a big push here in 2026 and as part of this, evaluating the brand/channel strategy question is, do you just expand the existing brand eg West Coast Deck and Fence West Coast Deck and Outdoor Or launch sub concepts with unique GBPs eg San Diego Fence San Diego Pavers San Diego Patio Would be willing to pay for smart time on this

Thinkers like Marc are exactly why we’re opening a TX office. Signed a lease in Dallas just this week. Great post Marc; the question is never “will things change”, rather, will we change voluntarily and contribute or reactively as a byproduct of the change itself. I prefer the former.

Every infrastructure revolution follows the same curve. 1769: Steam engine patent. By the 1800s, steam ran factories, mines, canals, trains, and boats. AI is following an identical curve right now. Here's what happens next:

i hate everything about this video. cherry picking the doomer talking points to scare people is gross. a moratorium on datacenters would hand the AI race to China. they are WISHING we stop building. i really don't want a 90yo to dictate tech
Sen. Bernie Sanders@SenSanders

I will be pushing for a moratorium on the construction of data centers that are powering the unregulated sprint to develop & deploy AI. The moratorium will give democracy a chance to catch up, and ensure that the benefits of technology work for all of us, not just the 1%.
