This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. I remember first becoming a fan of Chino XL as a young kid listening to him freestyle on the radio. Later, when I was filming Veronica Mars in San Diego, I ran into Chino at the valet in the Fashion Valley Mall. We exchanged numbers, I wanted him to help me get started in music & he wanted my help getting started in acting. Over time, we lost contact but again, I would run into him while he was sitting in his car at the Fox Hills mall, almost the same way we met. We both felt like the universe wanted us to be friends. Unfortunately, we never were able to really get close like I wanted, but I always held out hope that we would get back in contact. Perhaps in the next chapter. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this legendary icon. I know he loved his family and was fiercely loyal to his family. Rest now, friend. #RIPChinoXL
