@RyanJ_Heath @RealSkipperBudd Can’t see people saying Rodriquez is significant, therefore giving tuten a discount
Cook was very different due to name value
English

@RealSkipperBudd It’s a perfect list of RBs that gave us ADP discounts on better players. 10/10 zero notes
English

@TheGutterButter haha that guy is dumb af 🤣 So many people here trying to act good and genius but actually below dumb 🤣
English

@InTheMed @PunkHot10 Having a bigger brand and generating value for a company that didn’t exist before NFTs means said company can survive
If a company doesn’t survive floor price for that nft brand will bleed to zero as you say
Adidas were already a company and they failed because they gave up
English

@PunkHot10 Becoming a bigger brand and generating revenue doesn’t result in NFT floor price go up, even adidas failed with their NFTs. But good luck to Chimpers

I’m sympathetic to the premise of general stagnation
My feeling is I think people underestimate quite how atypical it was to pursue musical and artistic counter culture in the 20th century when participation required an extreme level of commitment and risk
This confluence of committed weirdos happened to coincide with a booming new media industry that had a lot of excess funds circulating and intense market pressure for new things
These confluences rarely happen, and when they do you get golden periods of new ideas
People after the internet inherited all music and art as a kind of folk art past its heralded prime, ubiquitous and requiring little commitment at all, relegating its urgency in contrast to the new frontier and unanswered questions of networked life.
Small groups of committed weirdos always exist, and occasionally intersect with the birth of new industries establishing new forms and archetypes
Art for most of history was a kind of folk ritual intermittently punctuated by committed weirdos turning their attention there. It’s just that most millennials and older grew up in one of those rare times so we expect the arts to always be a site of rupture and reinvention
It’s not that Gen Z aren’t as brilliant and creative as any generation rather the old media tendency of looking to identify that spark specifically amongst people creating records or paintings is limited
The elder-anathema rebellion right under our noses is that music or paintings aren’t that big a deal to them, maybe just another modality to explore attention networks

I wrote a new piece for @default_friend’s blog. I argue that Gen Z is trapped in a Borgesian archive, unable to establish a clear relationship to the cultural past. Link below 👇

It’s always a good day to join the Chimpers community.
Not just because of the art, consistency, brand growth, and alignment with our holders, but because of the momentum building all around us.
Since the start of the year alone:
- 3.6M total followers milestone
- Major $CHMPSTR upgrades
- Migration to a royalty-enforcing contract
- Collab with Amazon x Otherside
- Blind-Boxes taking over
- Pop-up and brand expansion in Japan
And there’s much more ahead:
- Online shop launch
- New collectible card drops
- Collector Hub + Story Hub
- Kawaii art & lore evolution
- Card collaborations
- Global licensing partnerships
- Retail product rollout
- Games & interactive experiences
- Series 2 blind boxes + collectible toys
We’re not just growing the brand globally, we’re building with NFTs at the core.
Stronger than ever.
And this is just the beginning 🐒

First it was accounts paid to shill products, then accounts paid to slander competitors, now they're paying accounts to defend corporate decision making?
It's probably best to operate under the assumption that everybody on X is a paid shill except for yourself.
People think more followers = better content, but generally the opposite is true. There is likely an inverse relationship between number of followers and quality of content (and I say this as somebody with a "high" follower count).
Just as civilizations tend to destroy themselves upon reaching a certain degree of technical acumen, so too do X posters turn to absolute shit with enough of a following.
Find smaller accounts, follow them until they become large, then unfollow and repeat the process.
Fuck influencers.

Every "opinion" on Crypto Twitter has a price tag.
Most of you already know this.
But today gave us a perfect case study. So let's talk about it. ☕
A major crypto company announced it's shutting down their:
- Bitcoin marketplace
- EVM marketplace
- Multichain wallet
We are talking about real users and real consequences.
Within hours of the official announcement, several large accounts posted about it.
Framing the company move as a bold and positive pivot.
Most of them noting they were "happy to be partnered" with the company.
Still paying attention? Great.
X has a Paid Partnership Policy.
Quote:
Posts that are part of a Paid Partnership published as an organic Post must include clear and conspicuous language indicating the commercial nature of such content, like “Ad” or “Promoted Content.”
Not a second tweet saying you are partnered or my partners at.
It's an Ad. Full Stop.
That same policy lists Prohibited Industries.
Categories that can't even use the Paid Partnership label at all.
Crypto: prohibited.
Gambling/sports betting: prohibited.
The product being promoted? A crypto casino and sportsbook.
That's not one prohibited category.
That's two. Simultaneously.
This same week, Nikita Bier publicly called out an undisclosed paid post and flagged it personally. He announced a new mandatory disclosure feature, with suspensions for non-compliance.
The platform itself just said "That's enough".
The crypto space responded by running a coordinated paid campaign for a crypto gambling product shutdown the next day.
This isn't about one campaign. Not even about one network or one company.
It's about an industry where the line between paid content and genuine opinion has been erased so completely that nobody even pretends anymore.
"Happy to be partnered" is considered disclosure.
Positive spin on bad news for users is considered content.
A KOL network signing a deal days before a product sunset is considered organic.
Until this space treats disclosure as a bare minimum standard, nothing said on CT should be taken at face value.
Not bullish takes. Not "I've been watching this project." Not "this is just my opinion."
We built an industry on trustless systems.
It's time the culture caught up.

If you are upset about the unified KOL disclosed(ish) shilling on the timeline today then you can point the blame at no other than @R3ACHNTWRK, a KOL agency (a real thing, I promise) that seems to have fed the deal to their entire roster.
