@kchau No, I’m addicted to being able to figure out where I’m going from the comfort of my sofa or from the text message my wife sent me. I’d be perfectly happy to have that stuff forwarded to the car’s map software from my phone, but so far nobody does that so CarPlay is the next best.

Apple CarPlay users are addicted to this hot garbage and will think it’s an amazing interface. I see a gas station on the map, I need to go to the gas station, it’s a touch screen, yet I cannot tap on it.

That being said, real privacy comes from air-gaps and keeping things on paper. We're all going to have to deal with a very less private information space, and make some choices about how much of the modern world we want to participate in. Everyone is going to find their own "Amish line" and start to check out of the ever-increasing technological Eye of Sauron that's being built. Eyes open, be ready to make touch choices.

@DJSnM IIRC, that was mostly due its cargo door design which *probably* isn't an issue here. I think? I don't know, maybe I'm thinking of something else.

DC10 had something of a reputation as an unsafe airliner. This pilot is clearly embracing that reputation.

@ehDTsai @Jon4Lakers It's not specific to the new M5 iPads, but iPadOS 26 adds a normal windowing system for multitasking like you would on a laptop.

@scottyishungry @davepl1968 No, it doesn’t. You do want to make sure the studio outlets are on dedicated circuits, but gold isn’t a great conductor (for a metal, anyway) so you don’t want it involved in power delivery. Plus, putting gold in the receptacle doesn’t do anything about the copper in the walls.

True sign of corporate stagnation is that Amazon, who basically owns the ebook market, still has not integrated an LLM into their ebooks where you can select passages from the book and talk to the LLM about them.
