Right. Lovely. I really liked that and I'm VERY VERY SORRY about all the typos. I was typing live and I'm 63. #thoughtsandprayers

1) Wrong union. 2) Millionaire train drivers? We wish! 3) 15% was spread over 3 years so well below inflation. 4) The drivers who don’t work, on ANY given day, are either not rostered [rest day/day off], on annual leave or sick; just like ANY staff in ANY other job. 5) “Luckily its [sic - missing apostrophe! Tut, tut!] such an unqualified job anyone or system could do it”. Get your application in and let everyone know how you do, either with getting you application accepted and if you do, how much effort is required to get through the training for the rules, the traction and route learning. We wait with bated breath…

Last night the Passenger Railway Services (Public Ownership) Bill passed its Third Reading in the Commons, turning a page on the 30-year failed experiment of rail privatisation. @RMTunion welcomes this historic first step in building an integrated publicly owned railway.

@_doublearrow Surely better (cost wise) to eventually by pass them, procure new rolling stock in house and the ROSCOs will naturally run down and be gone over time? I fear you'd spend billions renationalising them... 😕

Can you call it renationalisation if the RoSCos aren’t abolished? Surely they’re the reason why we have 2-, 3- and 4-car trains on what were originally InterCity routes with 7- to 12-carriage trains?

@philatrail @LNER CAF are major Tory donors. Government should call in the contract and force a level boarding solution on them. There is no excuse for any type of electric train to be anything other than low-floor today. Stadler have shown the way: the challenge is for others to do even better.

Another reason why @LevelBoarding needs to be a legal requirement for all new trains, stadler has shown it's possible Everyone should be able to turn up and go on the railway

I got left on a train after it terminated at Leeds. A @CrossCountryUK train. @northernassist assistance staff. Train managers didn't check the train. Driver noticed me as he went past, took 20 mins to find platform staff to get me off. Missed last bus home.

We’ve had a major breakthrough towards ending two years of rail strikes, with @ASLEFunion recommending a new offer to its members. This is positive news for the industry &, if accepted, will mean more certainty for passengers & a more reliable network. gov.uk/government/new…
