What's better than the Swiss Alps? The Italian Alps. Same mountains, half the price, better food. Found this estate in Valchiavenna, a few km from the Swiss border. €1.5M ($1.76M): - 7 chalets (3 fully renovated to A3 energy class, 4 more to develop) - 7.4 acres of land, 2 hectares of which is chestnut grove and 1 hectare is berry farm (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants) - a working agritourism with sauna and hot tubs - a small organic food brand called Hunum (honey, beer, juices, natural cosmetics) Lake Como is just south, Lugano (CH) ~1h 50, Milan airports under 2h. St. Moritz, Bormio and Livigno for skiing 1-2.5h depending which one. Same view as St. Moritz across the border, but way cheaper.

We launched the website!
Maps are now tiled, meaning a ~300mb map like the one below can be loaded and zoomed in very quickly without wasting your data, downloading only the resolution and tiles you actually fit in the viewport.
The Corded Ware/Yamnaya map specifically has our blueprint for all maps going forward, with a legend popup for greater readability.
You can actually cite the maps as well now, references included. Hopefully this reduces the amount of "fake" or "made up data" comments our reuploaders get on insta/tiktok (who am I kidding lol)
~160 maps on the backlog; it's gonna be a few all-nighters but hopefully we're done by the end of the week.

Announced roughly a year ago, MAPTISM is finally out MAPTISM dot org serves as a repository for all Maptism maps, animations, threads, graphics and other materials, easily and quickly accessible in full resolution and also in "tiled view". Currently host to a selection of curated maps, most with their respective articles and sources, over the coming days it will be updated to contain all Maptism maps and animations, as well as ported and reformatted twitter threads for easier viewing and reading. ~160 maps are on the backlog and will be ported over in the coming days. The site also includes a Commission form for easier Commission processing and more information for what type of Maps and Services we are able to provide: its not just prehistory! Right now, the main highlights are the Corded Ware and 2nd century Germanic threads ported over as well as the Mycenaean Maps. We're also stripping the "non-commercial" aspect of the licensing, and simply using CC BY 4.0 on the maps. Free for reuse, provided there is attribution.

Tucker Carlson just gave the most brutally honest marriage advice I’ve ever heard:
Don’t say “Whatever you want, babe.”
When she asks orange or pink napkins? You confidently say “Pink.” She’ll correct you to orange — then you immediately declare “Orange is perfect” like it was your idea. Same with dinner. She doesn’t want you to hand over every decision. She wants you to lead… while she still feels heard.

Raw. Funny. And probably true.
A lot of modern relationship advice ignores how men and women actually communicate in real life. Getting this dynamic right can save years of unnecessary fights.
I laughed because I’ve seen this exact dance play out. Tucker has zero filter and it’s oddly refreshing.

I read this study at 8:30 this morning and authoritatively announced, "Wife, you must drink your water."
She immediately hits me with attitude about how she doesn't need me to manage her water intake like she is some kind of child and she can drink water just fine. Women are often grumpy in the morning.
As a man, I did not respond to her directly, but instead went over to her bedstand and picked up her copper water bottle. Empirical evidence defeats rhetoric.
Empty.
Sputtering, she said, "Yeah! I finished that last night..." (then in smaller voice) "Or maybe it was the day before..."
"Indeed", I said, with paternal care.
Thus, I filled up her water bottle to set her up for success.
To be a man is to procure and provide. You are ascendant, anon.

The most productive and meaningful open-worlds are those which are small in size, but rediscoverable through mechanics you unlock over time. Think of Zelda's time travel or hookshot for example.
- It multiplies the depth and replayability of every place designed as such.
