@tify330 I dunno, if I saw two ICE protesters get shot, killed, and nothing come of it....Id probably chill out too. Maybe its the fact that Trump will let police/ICE/Military do anything to protesters that has them not protesting?

Can someone who agrees with this explain to me what it means to "earn your vote." I see so many people say this but never say what the criteria is and how it's different from just voting for the candidate that most closely aligns to you.

@KarlMaxxed Yall, its legitimately about not bombing or helping bomb humans. I voted for Kamala, even when she said she would continue to fund and support Israel. I didnt want Trump to win, but people out there are willing to say "you cant have my vote if you continue bombing people."

going up against other lefties on the topic of US democracy is exhausting they think every bad thing from the democrats must be a direct road to fascism, but also, Trump (the fascist) just isn't a significant threat in their world. they see his winning as a punishment for Dems.

@karamorphism Because its a two party system, both parties work to get voters. If the party you identify with hates you, then you vote for the other party. You hope the party you identify with eventually listens to you if they keep losing.

@treeaston I feel like two big issues were to stop funding bombs being dropped on people and not funding Ice. Kamala had said to stay the course in the middle east and to not only continue to fund Ice, but to give them more money. For some voters, it mattered. (Not me) 1/2

@stacycay "Republicans will destroy the world" should be enough to win votes, but its not. Its on the party to make concessions to get votes. I feel like the left is asking to stop funding countries bombing people and using our tax dollars to kill people. Which I agree would be nice.

@ContraPoints I get what you are saying, but they dont have the numbers. Dems supporters think democracy can work. Republicans have it figured out, they learned they dont have to be bipartisan anymore. Democrats are hoping people will be sensible and civil. Im not sure that exist anymore.

i want to see progressive politics in our country, too! it’s just extremely frustrating that the self-proclaimed leftists hold their votes hostage unless the perfect progressive candidate is nominated WHEN THEY WONT EVEN IDENTIFY A SINGLE CANDIDATE THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO VOTE FOR! they propose an impossible set of criteria to meet, do not provide a single human being who meets them, express anger towards every democrat who *does* participate in the primary, and then don’t even vote so we end up with republicans in power all over again. what are we even doing here????? how are we ever supposed to get progressive candidates in office in these conditions????
