@joybhattacharj Recently visited Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. Unfortunately the Museum doesn't host any of his starry nights paintings but the other paintings are just as awesome. He led a tragic life but his paintingsrefelct different emotions. His self portraits were an economically decision.

Chances are, the first name that comes to your mind when you hear 'painter' is Vincent Van Gogh. And yet, only one canvas was sold in his lifetime, and the citizens of the city of Arles where he lived signed a petition declaring him as dangerous and asking for him to be sent back to the Netherlands. And today, his old haunts in Arles are huge tourist attractions and the city offers a special Van Gogh route for the millions who throng there In fact, the only reason he painted so many self portraits was that he was often in an asylum and even when out, found it difficult to convince people to model for him. Vincent Van Gogh was born on this day in 1853.

Private school fees have been rising steadily. Parents are paying a lot every year. In some cases, school fees are higher than college fees. Even though colleges usually have better infrastructure and higher faculty salaries. Why is schooling becoming this expensive? 🤔

I don't understand why a guy in his late 20s is expected to have a car, a house, and a perfectly sorted life before marriage. We rarely ask if a woman of the same age owns a house or is 'fully settled'. No wonder so many men feel pressured to prove themselves financially before they are even considered partners. If stability is the benchmark, shouldn't it be the same for both?

"Custodial death of a poor dalit." 🚨 "Police had demanded ₹1 lakh bribe." 👹 Ajeet Gautam, a dalit youth labourer, from Jaunpur died just after an arrest in charge of theft. Family failed to give ₹1 lakh bribe to inspector, so they found his dead body. UP Police have become a monster now. They are forcibly criminalizing Dalit youth. When opposed, custodial deaths occur. This is horrifying. He was the only earning member of the family. His other brother is physically disabled. Who will feed the family now? Dalit boys are being forcibly branded as criminals in Jaunpur. The Sarpataha police are accused of picking up a Dalit youth from his house at 3 a.m. on 16 February on charges of theft. He was allegedly beaten in the police station for four days. On 19 February, he was produced in court and sent to jail. He died on 20 February. Are they police or predators? The entire police station and jail officials should be suspended, and an FIR should be invoked against them. This is unacceptable. Dalits are not meant to be killed at will. The family is demanding justice.
