@hirokatz I have visited Japan when I was much younger, I stayed in a temple in the countryside, couldn't tell you where. It reminded me so much of my home in the Midwest, and I couldn't tell you why. It was beautiful. Here is the type of country in the Midwest.

Nowadays, life styles in big cities are resemble each other all over the world. People enjoy X,FB,Netflix with MacBook, use Nike shoes, and eat McDonald's hamburgers in NY,London, Paris, Rio and Tokyo. But their own original cultures and tradition remain in rural, COUNTRYside in every countries. Dear Ameirican Bro. and Sis, I promise I always remember your wonderful, brilliant, marvelous BBQ photos everytime I hear about USA news, not only Manhattan buildings photos. So, if you will imagine Japanese rural side not only Tokyo and Anime, when you hear news of Japan, I am happy. If you see Japanese coutryside, you can see good people (sometimes conservative) loving their family and trust community, like you. Thaknks.

There are actually two classes of American citizenship First class is a natural-born citizen: can be president, cannot lose citizenship retroactively through denaturalization, only through renunciation. @sakegorilla I used to vacation 'Up North' (outing myself as a Midwesterner) and there was this awesome shop that sold smoked lake fish, Fantastic stuff.

Inland America (traditionally) eats a lot of freshwater fish, which you can't eat raw (because of parasites) but boy do we have a lot of fresh water fish stuff, to the point where the 'Fish Fry' is super common. Smelt, Whitefish, Trout, Walleye, Bass, Catfish, all big fish stuff for us. fishing is super popular, and 'going to the lake' is as well Fishing in the midwest is huge, and as big as BBQ. We love it so much we even have Ice Fishing, where we fish on frozen lakes in the winter, in little huts.

@AriaHikaru @WatcherontheWeb heh, Well that's our breakfast staple too, Eggs and bacon, with hashbrowns is about as American as you can get! Nearly every diner will sell it for a breakfast.
