The videos from October 7 exist and were widely seen. They showed exactly the kind of deliberate, murderous targeting of civilians that the you decry when it happens in Gaza. Context matters. Pretending the current suffering exists in a vacuum, detached from who launched the war and how they have fought it, is not a full picture—it is a partial one. Ending the suffering requires defeating the groups that glorify and pursue this path of endless conflict, securing any remaining hostages, and creating conditions where Gaza is no longer used as a base for the next round.

I’ve been in a state of shock for the past three hours, unable to even write a single sentence. I’m exhausted from writing. I’m exhausted from posting. I’m exhausted from screaming into the void every single day with nothing changing. I’m exhausted from living a life where our only goal is to survive until tomorrow. Were we created just to spend every day trying to escape death? And what breaks my heart even more is this: how has the world watched these scenes and then simply carried on as if nothing happened? How can so much death and so much suffering pass before the world’s eyes without shaking its conscience?

A 55-year-old activist was separately arrested without charge at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Israeli forces demolished two residential structures in Bab al-Shams village (East Jerusalem area) belonging to two brothers — the third demolition of their homes within a single year. Israeli gunboats fired on a Palestinian fishing boat off Gaza for roughly two and a half hours overnight.
