Hello. We have reached 8M active users across Codex and ChatGPT Work. We are once again resetting the usage limits for all. And we continue to not have the 5h rate limit as well, allowing everyone to explore the boundaries of GPT-5.6 Sol and discover how ambitious you can be. See you tomorrow for more updates on our growth!
Sam Altman@sama

5.6 sol growth is insane. the inference team has done heroic work to be able to support demand. we are going to move mountains to continue to scale, but it is possible there are some hiccups soon.

@Midnight_Captl I understand that NVIDIA doesn't need to respond to every rumor but not saying a lot by that. Having said that , @SemiAnalysis_ should have reached out to NVIDIA for a comment before publishing.

Move over bottle neck bois. Other sectors of the market are making some rich. - $GSHD is up ~50% since June 17th. - It closed green every single day since then (10 trading days straight) - Momo gods have departed semis by sailing across the Great Sea to insurance, healthcare.

@firstadopter @citrini Efficiency often comes with a cost. If someone comes up with a new arch which cuts memory by 50% but underperforms on benchmark tasks - no one cares really.

@Midnight_Captl Zuck is not a quitter. IMHO he is just giving the market one more justification for Meta's capex spend . I expect Meta would raise capex and market won't panic

Two thoughts come to my mind about the $META story 1) as I’ve talked about before, a pivot to this would be at least at face value bearish the AI complex. If Meta can’t cross the economic hurdle rate for compute, then who can? (The answer might be OpenAI and Anthropic) 2) AWS was started because Amazon needed infrastructure to satisfy peak demand for Amazon (Christmas), but for a large majority of the rest of the time, that infrastructure was under utilized. So they came up with the idea for cloud. Similar thing might be happening with Meta. Regardless… it’s going to be choppy for a while until we get some more datapoints about why Meta is doing this, and how it supports their overall strategy. Pretty muted reaction though from the stock, I thought it would be up much more than ~7% on news like this given how it’s traded this year

In March, Meta signed a $27B cloud services deal with Nebius. In April, Meta signed a $21B expansion of their cloud services agreement with CoreWeave. Two weeks ago, Bloomberg reported that Meta signed up to rent 1.6GW of data center capacity from Crusoe. And just 3 days ago, the Financial Times reported that Google had capped Meta's use of Gemini because of capacity constraints. And now all of a sudden, Meta actually has excess capacity? In reality, I suspect Meta looked at SpaceX's valuation and recent deals to sell excess capacity.. And came to the conclusion that investors will look favorably upon any willingness to monetize their capacity externally.. Which will give their share price some relief, and allow them to raise capital.. Which they'll use to buy and build more compute capacity, lol. $META $GOOG $NBIS $CRWV
Wall St Engine@wallstengine

$META is reportedly developing a cloud business to sell access to excess AI compute, per Bloomberg. The internal initiative is called Meta Compute. The plans being considered: AI model access hosted on Meta infrastructure, similar to AWS Bedrock Raw AI compute capacity, closer to CoreWeave Developer access to Meta’s data centers, chips, and models

@RHouseResearch I swear I was just about to make that point. Meta now has an excuse to ramp up capex.

$KMX Carmax golden cross detected 👀 The catalyst (6/17 earnings): • Rev $8.0B, +6.2% YoY, beat est • EPS $1.31 vs ~$0.95 feared Add Starboard's activist position + ~12% short interest and you've got a name primed for a continuation move. #Carmax

@saso_capital Oh yeah - just like Meta's moat is zero (it is all software). What about GOOG - oh wait that is software as well. CUDA's moat is actually intact. Few may co-design hardware / software for ML acceleration but overwhelming majority would continue to use cuda.

@bridgemindai Ignore the ~3x cost to gain +3% pass rate. Who cares about money anyways. What matters most is OP's assessment of what the output code looks like.

Claude Fable 5 is #1 on DeepSWE at 70%. But the real gap between Fable 5 and GPT 5.5 is much bigger than 3 points. Fable 5 writes code that looks like a senior engineer wrote it. GPT 5.5 writes code that passes the test. Both ship working software. Only one ships software you would want to maintain.

gpt 5.5 > fable 5 > composer 2.5 > gemini 3.1 New eval - ALE
Dawn Song@dawnsongtweets

Everyone says the latest AI agents will be "job-ready" soon, especially after the release of Fable 5 this week. But is that really the case? Over the past many months, my group and collaborators have been building Agents' Last Exam (ALE), a benchmark designed to test exactly that claim on real digital labor-market work. My group and collaborators previously have created many of the benchmarks the field runs on, including MMLU, MATH, CyberGym, and ExploitGym. Today, I'm excited to share Agents' Last Exam (ALE): a rolling benchmark that measures whether AI agents can actually perform economically valuable work across a broad range of real-world domains. With ALE, we evaluated Fable 5, GPT-5.5, Composer 2.5, and other frontier agent systems across more than 1,500 expert-sourced tasks spanning 55 occupations. The result is both impressive and sobering. Today's agents can solve a meaningful fraction of professional tasks. But when we look at the hardest tasks, the ones requiring sustained reasoning, deep domain expertise, and reliable execution over long horizons, they are still far from human-level performance. On ALE's hardest tier, every frontier agent we tested, including Fable 5, achieved a 0% success rate. The age of useful agents is here. The age of truly job-ready agents is not. We hope Agents' Last Exam (ALE) will serve as a new guidepost and north star for developing agents capable of reliably performing economically valuable work across a broad range of domains. 🧵

@WaterworldCapi1 $MSFT was initially positioned to capture the bulk of data-center spending because it had early visibility into OpenAI’s rapidly growing compute needs. Satya chose to limit CapEx, opening the door for $ORCL, $NBIS, $CRWV, $SPCX, $AMZN and others to capture share of the demand.
