@TheOceanCleanup Maybe a stupid question but why do they use an excavator and not some kind of conveyer belt like in the Interceptor? Just for testing?

@ZacksJerryRig Question: Why spend so much time critiquing someone you don't like or their plans? Use that energy for something positive and actually help make the world a better place instead of just spreading negativity.

"For those unaware - I know i said 10 years ago that we would be on Mars right now. But since we are still more than 10 years away I've decided to pivot to the Moon. Yes. The moon. Since it is closer. But ill still give myself another 10 years to accomplish this task since what I really need is for my $Tsla stock not to crash so I can keep giving money to the pedophiles in government. Please believe me this time and don't let my stock crash. Thank you. Roadster, semi, FSD, robots, and AI singularity all coming next week. Please forget about Mars. Did I mention $tsla? Thank you. Also please forget i emailed my bud jeff Epstein on Christmas morning at 6am."
Elon Musk@elonmusk

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years. The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars. It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city. That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.

@Erdayastronaut Do you think the depot will have different engines or layout just to maintain orbit and reduce unneccassery weight? Or the same layout as Starship since it has to reach orbit first?

More official renders of Starship including the tanker, depot and HLS lander just dropped! I still think HLS should drop anything not needed after TLI (Raptors / Tankage)... Source: ntrs.nasa.gov/citations/2025…

@CSI_Starbase @LabPadre Do you think they will immediately start dismantling the pad after the flight 11? And will the whole tower be removed or will they make adjustments for the new launchpad and updated rocket?

@elonmusk @SciGuySpace Awesome. Any news on objectives for flight 11? Will you try to go orbital and maybe even deploy real Starlinks instead of dummies?

@SciGuySpace SpaceX will do orbital refilling several times next year with Starship V3. Because we are simply docking with ourself, this is a much easier problem than docking with the Space Station, which SpaceX already does several times a year.

I have bad news for you, then. The US Senate was told today that on-orbit refueling has never been done before and is therefore impractical. And the Senate seems much more interested in a Lunar space station than building a Moon base.
FlyIt@FlyItRealFast

@SciGuySpace Both on-orbit refueling and the confirmation and quantification of lunar water ice should be the top two U.S. priorities.

@CSI_Starbase Do you think the dummy Starlinks deployment on Flight 10 will be how they will deploy them when Starship is operational, since earlier videos showed them launched in pairs? Or do you think this was mainly to gather extra data using the pez dispenser?

Here. We. Spreekbeurt.

@kirawontmiss Shouldn’t the car be attached with the front wheels instead of the back wheels? The front wheels can move when pulling it away like in this video right?

@CSI_Starbase I believe Elon said they were only going to add 10 more meters to the full stack before increasing diameter. Will they have to build a new launch pad when that happens or will they be able to place a higher diameter launch table in pad B?

@Truthful_ast @INiallAnderson Do you think if it would have been able to turn off the engines and reorient the ship they would have been able to reenter and test some more heating experiments? Wouldn't that also be somewhat safer for the public instead of spreading debris higher up?

@INiallAnderson Glad someone said it, this is one of the things about Starship I cannot defend because it makes no sense to me, all other rockets would turn off the engines, check what's going on and either continue or fire FTS

@CSI_Starbase Like I believe Scott Manley mentioned a while ago. It might also be safer, if controllable of course, to get it down somewhat in one piece instead of a lot of smaller parts spread out from an explosion high in the atmosphere.

@CSI_Starbase What do you think about them not being able to turn off the other 2 engines when out of control? Would it otherwise not be better, if it wasn’t FTS that blew up the ship, to let the trusters reorient the ship for extra data on the heating experiments? Within public safety margins

NOOOOOOOOO! I hope this isn't the same issue from last time or it might be an overall design flaw with the redesigned propulsion system on Version 2 of the Ship 😔

@CSI_Starbase After the booster catches from flights 5 and 7, I noticed significant ice on the Super Heavy Booster. Do you think this is caused by the cryogenic fuel or perhaps ice forming inside the tanks due to the gas used for pressurization?
