The fact remains, the glyphosate studies that were not funded by Monsanto demonstrated it to as safe an ag chem as there is. It saves billions of acre-feet of water, and is a major reason we have affordable food. The International Agency for Research on Cancer study everybody uses as evidence of it being a carcinogen, gave glyphosate a 2A categorization as “probably carcinogenic to humans”. Items that are rated 2A like glyphosate: 1) Indoor wood-burning fireplaces, 2) Drinking hot beverages, 3) High-temperature frying, 4) Being a barber, and 5) Working “third shift.” Guess I should have cancer, because I do 4 out of 5 of those. So if you are worried about glyphosate risks, you should also stop drinking tea and coffee (& decaf), brick in your fireplace, stop eating fried foods, and quit your 3rd shift job. I let Grok disprove my argument, and it agreed with me. The benefits of glyphosate outweigh the risks, the most important benefit is it stopped the erosion of our top soil, which could have doomed the world since we were running out of topsoil:

@TheValuePond The Supreme Court doesn’t care about MAHA. Congress passed FIFRA and designated the EPA to determine safety on specific Ag chemicals. If SCOTUS rules against Bayer they essentially veto FIFRA.

@TheValuePond The Trials involved the retail version of formulated roundup. Farmers use unformulated glyphosate, it’s all generic unless they specifically ask their distributor for branded which costs more. Before tariffs got shot down, price was similar. It was +300-500mm for Bayer annually

@NathanLitt1 supreme court doesn't care if it causes cancer but whether states can ignore federal law (FIFRA) and impose their own label requirements that differ from the EPA's label. 9th and 11th circuit said its misbranded.... SCOTUS will rule that's not for a court to decide.

Glyphosate causes cancer, it is almost a no-brainer certainty. The Supreme Court needs to decide on coverage for victims and changes in understanding for future use of Round-Up. The company cannot continue to cover over 65’000 claims, but it is guilty of releasing this product.
