BREAKING: President Trump wants no more strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure after today’s Israeli strikes on a vital Iranian gas field, per WSJ.

Joe Kent, a top counterterrorism official, resigned today claiming that Trump was duped by Israel into starting a war with Iran. Ok, Joe. Where’s the evidence? The consequences of a claim like this are too dire not to be backed with facts. If you have them, I'll stand with you, but present the evidence.

No, they’re increasing spending and in order to pay for their reckless spending they think taking a higher percent of their constituents’ incomes will pay for it. Of course Dems are ignoramuses when it comes to basic economics, so these higher taxes likely won’t pay for the spending since it will just chase the most productive out of their states into lower taxed states.

@MattWalshBlog Agreed. Also, everyone should read the book ‘Leaving a Legacy’ by Kirk. It will change your mind on quite a lot about raising kids, leaving a legacy, and rethinking your role as a parent.

I used to be entirely in the camp that said you should kick your kids out at 18 and force them to live independently and make their own way in the world. I don’t feel that way at all anymore. I want all my kids to live with us until they get married. Even after they’re married, if they want to live on our property, or close by, my wife and I would love that. The important thing is to teach your kids responsibility, which we’re doing. They need to contribute and help around the house, which all of our kids do from a very young age. Provided you aren’t raising ungrateful useless moochers, why kick them out? Why drive them away from your family home? I don’t see the point in it anymore. I actually like my kids and like being around them. Maybe they’ll all end up scattered to the wind. But I’d prefer to keep the family together. Why wouldn’t I?

Obviously this administration has already destroyed the coalition that won Trump the popular vote and every swing state in 2024, but just imagine (and I don’t think this will happen) that they put up zero deep state arrests, covered up the Epstein scandal and launched a war for Israel against Iran, AND then prosecuted Tucker Carlson for trying to get Trump to keep his campaign promises. If you wanted to destroy this country, this would be the best course of action.

Just so you are aware, if you suspect someone you know in the US is working on behalf of Iran or any other adversary during a time of war, you can and should report them to the FBI and DOJ. It’s the America First thing to do. We need to bring back McCarthyism and start rooting out traitors.

Well now… isn’t this something. Thomas Massie spent money on an ad trying to convince everybody that Ed Gallrein left the Republican Party because he was disgusted with President Trump. Honey… that story sounds good right up until the moment somebody actually looks at the facts. Because according to Ed Gallrein’s own campaign, the reason he briefly switched to Independent had nothing to do with President Trump at all. It ALL had to do with Thomas Massie. Ed’s spokesperson, Alexandra Wilkes, told the Courier Journal plainly: "Ed briefly changed registration out of frustration with the broken system Congressman Massie created in his district, which hurt the Republican Party, and he is proud to stand with President Trump and true conservative Republicans." Now let’s talk about that word "brief," since some folks are acting confused. Ed Gallrein has been a Republican for over 40 years. Four years as an Independent during that entire time is what most people would call a detour, not a lifestyle. But here’s the part Massie really hoped nobody would dig into. In 2021 Kentucky redistricted, yall remember that mess? The Massie paid for politicians like Photo-op Felicia Rabourn and over cooked Massie foot kisser Adrienne Southworth absolutely having a fit? Yeah you remember now. Well it created a new State Senate race in District 7 where Ed lives. Where I also live. Gallrein switched back to Republican so he could run in that race. That’s it. No conspiracy. No anti-Trump rebellion. No dramatic political awakening. Just basic election logistics. And he only lost that race by 118 votes. So what did Massie do? He took a perfectly normal timeline and twisted it into a scary bedtime story for MAGA hoping nobody would check the details. Because if there’s one thing Massie understands, it’s that accusing somebody of disloyalty to President Trump is the fastest way to rile people up. Problem is… this one doesn’t hold water. And frankly, it’s a little rich coming from the same man who has spent years picking fights with the very voters he now expects to rally behind him. Around here we have a saying: If you have to bend the truth that hard to make your opponent look bad… you probably aren’t standing on much truth yourself. But bless his heart. Now pass the popcorn. - Auntie Julie 🔥 🔥 🔥

Boomers are the first truly selfish generation. Every other generation in human history has done everything they could to make their offspring’s lives easier and better—including trying to set their children up early in life with wealth/land. Polls show boomers are way more focused on their own wealth and improving their own lives than every other generation. They often love to tell their children to figure out their own financial situation without help from them because “they shouldn’t get anything from me”. Somehow thinking that transferring wealth to their children, like every generation previously, will make them lazy (not that it can’t, it can, but boomers also didnt want to take on the responsibility of parenting their children enough to ensure they don’t get lazy and entitled). Parent’s job is to raise their children well, transfer morals, wisdom, knowledge, but also wealth. Parents unfortunately think too little about this. It can be done at the end of life, via life insurance or the transfer of other assets, or done during life (the better way to do it), via gifts, saving specifically for the child’s benefit, and/or through helping them takeover or join in a family business or teaching them marketable skills. Parents can still enjoy their wealth and also transfer wealth intelligently to their children early enough in the child’s life so that they can benefit from it and help improve their life. You would think this is what every parent would want for their children, but apparently not.

I’m getting really tired of these takes. Why should this guy’s parents *not* enjoy their retirement, and why doesn’t he want them to be doing whatever makes them happy for the last years of their life? Because he wants money? Are we all owed our parents’ money to the fullest extent possible? He grew up in that nice house and his parents fed him and loved him and worked jobs that made his little life possible, on whatever scale they could manage. Now that they’re retired, they should just keep on giving, like the goddamn Giving Tree until they’re stumps in the ground? A million dollars isn’t going to set him up for life or give him intergenerational wealth, it’s going to make an old couple comfortable for twenty years, maybe. And that’s too much for them to want for themselves? What a bunch of whiny spoiled entitled losers you people are. Make your own life and stop counting other people’s money. It was never yours.
daz@MetamateDaz

a friend’s boomer parents bought their home for $67,000 in 1993. Today, it’s worth ~$1,200,000 and he’s their only son so he thought he’d be a millionaire when they die but they just sold the house last week to enjoy their retirement 💀

Thomas Massie defamed several totally innocent men last month, falsely declaring them "incriminated" in heinous child sex crimes, and didn't even have the decency to apologize. He richly deserves to lose his GOP primary
