We were preparing for my mum burial, that just a week after her joining the lord. That how her step sister told me and my sister that our house now belongs to their family, her burial was the next day, her body hasn’t even been put back to the earth, my sister just said no problem. That she knows her sister died of cancer and we had to use a lot of money, so we used the house to borrow money, that it will even help us if they take over. Till today, we’ve not heard from her.
EA@virtuousii

Her body is not even cold yet and they’re trying to sell her cars???

A guy joined my office six months ago, and within a week, he texted me asking for some money. I found it very weird, and later learned from some colleagues that he had texted them as well. Because of this, we started avoiding him at the office and stopped inviting him to office parties. Today, I met him at a bike club, and he had a Harley-Davidson. We talked for a while, and I jokingly asked him, “Bro, why did you need to borrow money when you can afford a Harley?” He replied that he didn’t really need the money. He’s an introvert and doesn’t like talking to people. Asking colleagues for money makes them avoid him in the office. Dude’s a legend.

A married woman died two days ago in Abuja and her husband brought her corpse to her family house in Benin Today. Safe to say the husband has been arrested and is being charged for the murder of his wife because the deceased have on several occasions sent videos and pictures to her brothers concerning the domestic abuse she has been facing in the hands of her husband. Her brothers sent flight money for her to return but I Benin last month only to be called upon three days ago that their sister is dead. Why did they wait this long? Why couldn’t they storm her matrimonial home, get her husband arrested since they already have enough evidence of the abuse and take their sister away? Why did she not leave despite the abuse? What was she waiting for? So many questions in my head right now. I pray he is found guilty after autopsy so he can rot in prison.

I remember when Kelvin bought a fairly used phone around Soka. You know all these cheap Android from roadside. When he got home, he realized the phone hadn’t been wiped. Pictures, chats, contacts, everything was still inside. Out of curiosity, he started going through it. He saw pictures of a lady… plenty pictures. From the chats, it was obvious she was the previous owner. At first, it was just cruise. Then Kelvin decided to message one contact saved as “Mum” to inform them the phone had been sold. That’s when everything changed. The woman replied… and told him the girl who owned the phone was missing. Not just missing, declared missing for weeks. At that point, a normal person would just reset the phone and move on. But Kelvin didn’t. He started digging through chats, pictures, even old locations, trying to piece things together. One conversation stood out. A guy she had been arguing with shortly before she disappeared. Kelvin reached out to the number, acting like someone else. The replies were off. Too defensive. Too shaky. He reported everything to the police. That number became the lead. After investigation… The guy was arrested. And he eventually confessed. And here’s the part that hits hard… The girl had already been killed. Her body was later found based on the information he gave. All from a random phone bought on the roadside. If Kelvin didn’t check… If he ignored it… If he just wiped the phone… That truth might have stayed buried

In 2019, my brother was working for a businesswoman in Idumota, Lagos. That day, she accused him of stealing her gold ring and raised an alarm. Before anything could be verified, a mob gathered and beat him to death. Later, she found the ring with her own daughter. Just like that… my brother was gone over something he didn’t do. Till today, I still don’t know how to process it. The pain sits heavy in my chest. The anger comes and goes, but it never really leaves. Sometimes I think about how he didn’t even get the chance to defend himself, how everything ended so quickly… and it breaks me all over again. If I’m being honest, a part of me died with him that day.

This morning, we caught a thief on my street and people gathered around him. While everyone was arguing and trying to beat him, a woman was shouting from a distance, telling them to deal with him properly. When she finally got closer to see what was happening, she suddenly went quiet. It turned out the thief was her husband💔

My sister, who is a caterer, was hired to cook for a child naming ceremony. The money for the cow was supposed to be paid into her account normally, However, a family friend of the baby's father while making plans for the naming asked him to send the money for the cow into his account instead, claiming he needed to boost his account balance for a visa application. Trusting him, the man sent the money to this friend, thinking he would handle the cow payment later. On the day of buying the cow, my sister with this man who is to handle the payment and one other family member travelled to somewhere in Ogun state to buy the cow. They bought the cow, slaughtered it, and prepared everything. When it was time to pay, the man had disappeared. They tried calling him, but he didn’t pick up. My sister eventually reached him, and he said his life was ruined and even threatened to kill himself. She pleaded with him not to, asking him to show up. They waited for hours, and he still didn’t show. My sister then called the baby’s father to explain everything. The baby’s father sent another payment to cover the cow so they could pay the seller, Alhaji. After my sister informed the man that the cow had been paid for, he finally appeared because he was the one to drive the vehicle. My sister called him Inside the vehicle before they took off, she spoke to him gently, asking again why he wanted to harm himself. He revealed that the agent helping him with his visa had swindled his money. My sister informed the others. The Alhaji then asked him to open his bank app to verify the account statement. It was discovered that this man had actually used the money for Bet9ja. The Alhaji slapped him for deceiving them, and even called the police. The baby’s father drove this family friend to the police station. My sister later got to know that this man works with the Lagos State local government and he's being doing same with the money meant for office runnings.

I’ve seen a number of takes flying around, especially from some big accounts, suggesting that I intentionally created a situation just to drag someone or farm engagement. Let me say this clearly, that was never the intention. When Victor Osimhen replied to me, I understood what that moment could become. I’ve been on X for over 5 years, and like many people on this platform, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like that, one that could finally help grow my page. So yes, I had a plan. To bring the giveaway to my timeline, ask people who were interested to follow, like, and comment, and then pick winners from there. Nothing unusual. In fact, it’s the same strategy many of the big accounts use every day. When I was contacted, I explained clearly one phone that this opportunity meant something to me, that I wanted to use it to grow my account and engage my audience. But instead of understanding that, I was met with resistance. At that point, I had two options, step aside or stand my ground. I chose to stand my ground. Since yesterday, I’ve also seen some of these same big accounts resort to calling me names and throwing insults. Interestingly, the moment I return that same energy, I get blocked. That says a lot. What followed was simply me standing my ground when I felt that opportunity was being taken away from me. If people supported me, it was not because I manipulated them, but because they saw a situation and chose what to stand for. Now, to those implying I did this for clout or monetization, let’s not pretend. The same way I wanted to grow my page is the same way many big accounts have built theirs. Visibility. Engagement. Influence. These things don’t happen by accident, they are pursued. The only difference is that some people are more comfortable admitting it than others. I did not manufacture this opportunity, but I refused to let it slip away. And I stand by that. Thank you. SAMBO

I’m also in this situation, and I’m drained. I found out my store landlord is a developer whose tenure expired March, but he kept quiet and collected 2 years’ rent from me. Now the actual property owners have sent their lawyer to my store with a notice saying all of us will be ejected on the 13th of April. Lol.

So my colleague brought Kilishi from Nigeria. Those kind of kilishi that gives you tears and joy at the same time. Instead of giving me enough so I can stop asking, this boy has been giving me in tiny bits. I asked him why he can't just give me enough so I can stop asking him for more. This boy has the mind to ask me, “ What’s the joy in that”? He said he enjoys the way I beg him for kilishi. He will even ask me to come and pick it up from his unit, and I will shamelessly go🤣🤣 He’s winning sha, cos even with this knowledge, I will still beg🤣🤣

There was a robbery incident that happened to my neighbour some time ago. The robbers hit their door, threatening to break it down if they didn’t open up, so the dad had no choice but to open it. Four rugged, armed men walked in and immediately ordered everyone out of the room to lie face down on the floor if they didn’t want to die. They all obeyed, including the little kids. But after a while, the children started arguing over space, saying “that’s my spot, I got there before you.” One of the robbers, who seemed like the boss, stayed back to guard them while the others searched the house. He got angry and shouted at the kids to lie down and close their eyes. A few minutes later, one of the little girls whispered to her brother to close his eyes or she would report him. Next thing, she stood up, walked up to the armed robber, tugged his trousers, and said, “Uncle armed robber, Junior is not closing his eyes.” Immediately, the other robbers both inside and outside burst into laughter. The one guarding them just stood there, shook his head, and then walked out. In a teary voice, he told the others to leave everything and go. They left the house without taking anything.

A colleague of mine got engaged, and he would be married in a month or so. We were having our coffee, and people were making fun of him. A guy in the group noticed a female name tattooed on his arms. Others started asking him, Who is this female? Is this your fiance's name? He nodded a no and added, "She is my ex." I told him, "Is she married now?" He nodded a no. People continued to bug and he just kept quiet with a straight face. After he left, a friend of his told us his love story. He and a girl were in a relationship for 4 years. College days relationship. One day, they were caught by their parents while they were sitting in some beach. The parents house arrested the girl, but she escaped. They left the house together to get married. They were hidden in a small town for a month. After a month, their parents caught hold of them. Parents promised marriage after completion of studies. Both of them agreed and returned to their respective places. After about 6–7 months, the girl started to get frequent stomachache. When medically examined, the doctors suggested uterus removal as the only way out. Surgery was planned. She met him a day Or two before the surgery and committed suicide the same night and she left a letter behind which said, “I know, you love children. Get married and who knows, I might come back as your child.” It took me a couple of days to overcome this thing emotionally.

I remember how my husband met my dad with no plans and no communication 😂😂. We wanted to go clubbing and he was to pick me up around 9pm. Meanwhile, I had convinced my dad that I would be going out with my girlfriend and would sleep over. Plans were in motion, but my immediate elder brother had already overheard my conversations. He carried his mattress to the parlour and lay there. I was like, “What’s the meaning of this one?” He told me to “come and cross let me see”, that he would not touch me unless I wanted him to. I was so pained and told my husband what happened. He said no problem, that I shouldn’t quarrel with him. The next day was Saturday. Around 5pm, we were watching a program when someone knocked. My dad asked me to check who it was. On opening the door, I saw my babe 😱. I froze and said “Jesus”. My brother asked who it was and came to the door. Immediately, I ran out through the back kitchen door and left the house for all of them 😂😂😂😂. My brother was calling me, my husband was calling me 😂😂. No man has ever visited me at home, and you want me to tell my father you are who? 😭😭 Who?😭😭
