This isn’t about one bad tech company. This is the cost of the “Race to Recklessness.” Every tech platform is rapidly being forced to integrate AI agents—Bing, Office, Snap, Slack—because if they don’t, they lose to competitors. But our children cannot be collateral damage.

I wish that everyone could have a friend as empowering and inspiring as @timnitGebru. If you (like me) have tendency to look in mirror & see only worthlessness; the men in your career mostly agree; having a friend who can see and articulate your value can be a literal life saver.

One of the things I started working on before getting fired from Google was a research project to investigate ways of making machine translation systems that people don’t over trust.

I've been explaining how, for Computer Scientist women, picking up more skills means the others are erased & you're further demeaned. I started programming at ~10. Trained my first model when I was ~21 (without ML packages). Worked in "AI" for ~15 years. I have a doctorate in CS.
