I am deeply alarmed by the approach of the police yesterday to those peacefully protesting for Palestine, including the treatment of John McDonnell MP and Jeremy Corbyn MP, two elected MPs with decades of participating in peaceful protest. There is now clear evidence coming to light that shows the reality of what took place and that runs contrary to what has been alleged. People should not be targeted for peacefully protesting against genocide. The anti-protest laws introduced by the Tories were an affront to our democratic freedoms and their implementation is clearly undermining long-held civil rights and the freedom of expression. They should be revoked.

A lesson in racism. Israelis suffer brutality and massacres at the hands of a named culprit. Palestinian suffering isn't even acknowledged, no mourning extended to them, their oppressor mysterious and unnamed.

Stop asking who should govern Gaza I told @BBCNews and @Channel4News tonight, following the announcement of a ceasefire. The Palestinian people should govern themselves. The Palestinians have their national institutions: the State of Palestine and its government that represents the unity of Palestinian people, land and political system. We cannot return to the status quo ante, now is the time for Palestinian liberation and the unity of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and Gaza.
