@Sassafrass_84 DeSantis is a tactical genius who values action over talk. MAGA zealots quick to disregard his unmatched executive ability are what threatens the "conservative base." In truth, it's insecurity that drives this mindset - the fear that DeSantis will over shadow Trump's record.

Ron Desantis is a great governor. He did a lot for my state of Florida, and if he gets property taxes abolished, it is an even bigger win.
However, he really screwed up thinking he could take on President Trump and the maga movement. Calling us listless vessels.
He could have cost us the election. I can't vote for somebody who can turn and burn the conservative base so quickly.
I dont know what his future in politics will be, but I know it isn't going to be president. Unless something drastic changes.

I think a lot of DeSantis supporters are still recovering from the avalanche of smears and slanders pushed by the Loomer-Boomers and their ilk. One can develop a form of PTSD from prolonged exposure to impenetrable ignorance.
I’m not sure the 2028 primaries will be a carbon copy of ‘24, though. Trump had martyrdom on his side, first from the lawfare and then an assassination attempt. Should DeSantis have waited? Probably. But let’s not fall into the fallacious trap of thinking 2024 was the end all/be all for his political career.
