Great to co-host a Hill briefing with @theNIAorg yesterday about the important role the Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) plays in supporting American energy security, competitiveness, and innovation. CEBA was thrilled to see increased staffing resources and a higher credit subsidy for the office in the president's budget proposal. We hope Congress will build on that momentum to ensure EDF can continue advancing the technologies needed to ensure reliable, affordable power. Big thanks to @RepChuck and @RepVeasey for your support of this event and leadership in nuclear policy! @JudiGreenwald @NidhiJThakar @TomasWGreen @REnglandDC

.@MalloryMcMorrow's plan on data centers: Data center companies, not Michigan families, pay for their own energy and grid upgrades – so rates don't go up. Data centers can't harm our water, air, or environment. Data centers pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities. Data centers are built with local union labor.

CEBA's statement following the @HouseCommerce's vote on hydropower legislation: “CEBA thanks @RepNewhouse and @SteveDaines for their leadership on H.R. 2072 and S. 1020, respectively, which aim to extend construction deadlines for qualified hydropower projects. Hydropower delivers reliable, carbon emissions‑free electricity that consumers depend on, but delays threaten 37 projects across 15 states — representing up to 2.6 gigawatts of future clean power. Allowing the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to grant targeted extensions for projects licensed before March 13, 2020, will protect existing investments, preserve critical clean energy capacity, and support long‑term grid reliability. Following today’s unanimous vote in the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Senate’s bipartisan approval in July, we urge the full House to advance and pass this bipartisan legislation.”

Statement from CEBA CEO @powellrich on the House passage of the SPEED Act: "CEBA appreciates the efforts of House Natural Resources Committee Chair Bruce Westerman alongside Speaker Mike Johnson and subcommittee Chair Pete Stauber to advance meaningful permitting reform. America’s permitting system has restricted our economic growth for too long, and increasing partisanship has only made it harder. Last-minute changes to the SPEED Act undercut the bill’s intent to provide certainty to American business. However, we are encouraged by the bipartisan negotiations that occurred in recent weeks. We especially applaud the work of Reps. Jared Golden, Scott Peters, Josh Harder, and others in seeking to amend the bill to provide greater certainty for energy projects.

On the House floor - Scott Perry, Jeff Van Drew, Chris Smith, and Andy Harris are NOs on the rule that includes SPEED Act This puts the rule on track to fail - which would be Speaker Johnson’s seventh rule failure under his leadership since he took the gavel from McCarthy

NEW: Natural Resources Committee approves measure to stop executive branch revoking energy permits. Big development on a bipartisan amendment that Chair Westerman brokered w/Dems to his SPEED Act/NEPA overhaul. Unclear how it'll move votes on the bill subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025/1…

🚨TODAY, @SenateBudget and @OversightDems released a 66-page joint staff report on modern-day fossil fuel industry doublespeak on climate change. We've released 10s of thousands of pages of internal execs' docs and communications that shine a light on Big Oil's deception. ⬇️

Listening in to the @ENERGY webinar about industrial demonstration project awards. @SSAB_AB announcing that its total planned investment for its fossil free iron and steel facility is $3.5M, so DOE cost share is ~14%. Expected to be the first fossil free sponge iron in the US!

On the $6.3B from @ENERGY for industrial decarb projects: “We are ready to retire the term ‘hard to abate.' These announcements show we have solutions to get to net zero emissions in many sectors. A lot more needs to be done, but it really is possible now.” via @olliemilman

🧵i tweeted this a few months ago and got ✨dragged✨but the real question i was asking is: where do we hear about the pain and inner lives of men? i asked a male friend this question and he replied, "no one wants to hear about men's inner lives." /1
emily may@emilykmay

the thing about taylor swift is that she so perfectly encapsulates through her lyrics, the interior lives of women. It's why we all can't stop listening. We're all saying, "wait you felt that way? we were all feeling this way?" do men have someone like that?
