" I think one of the fundamental questions that we're not asking as a dealership world and a car salesman, is how do we make consumers' lives easier?" Some dealers argue third party negotiators shouldn’t exist. @TomislavMikula, Founder of Delivrd, breaks down what their growth says about how difficult the buying process still is. [BREAKING] Kia is drawing a hard line on broker sales: Kia America just sent a letter to its dealer network warning that broker sales activity violates the Kia Sales Policy and Dealer Agreement. The memo, signed by VP of Sales Operations Eric Watson, reinforces three key rules: 1. Broker sales don’t count as eligible sales or earn incentives 2. All broker deals must be reported using the BRKR sales type 3. And dealers can’t operate or delegate sales through unauthorized locations or third parties Kia warned that misreporting broker activity could trigger incentive chargebacks. Seems like tighter oversight is in order… (Source: Kia America)

@2001TJSahara @GuyDealership I’ve gone head to head on plenty of broker deals. We normally get more aggressive pricing. As we are pretty darn quick. Videos only go long when people try to hold gross rather than saying yes or no.

@GuyDealership @TomislavMikula I've watched several of his videos, and this explains why his deals aren't that great for a broker. It's about the deeply discounted bottom line for me, and a quick, painless experience. My brokers understand this.

" The biggest shocker to me is that consumers didn't care about savings at all. It was like out of the top four or five things, it was number five. People cared more about the time, the energy, the anxiety than anything else and most people said, based on the service, that if I saved them five grand, I could take half of it." Some car buyers are choosing to work with third party negotiators. @TomislavMikula, Founder of Delivrd, explains why certain dealers still take the call to move deals faster without the usual back and forth. If franchise laws did not exist anymore after today... Do dealerships truly believe that they would have the best model? That people would still choose to use them? I am genuinely curious. Does anyone actually think the dealership model is the "best possible option"?

@AmericansFierce Free market is pretty much the most efficient way to do this. The market will decide what value a product has. The problem with car buying is that there is a "dealership tax". So even though you are buying an item, the dealership believes you are buying a service.

@TomislavMikula How would you fix it to maximize profit and still sell cars at a fair price to the consumer?

The reason car buyers negotiate isn’t greed. It’s self defense. When the first number isn’t the real number, people push back. That’s human nature. Fix the pricing structure and negotiation disappears.

Dealerships think D2C is the enemy. It's not. It's the first time they've ever had to answer one question: "Why should someone CHOOSE us?" Most don't have an answer. That's not a D2C problem. That's a dealership problem.

I never said anyone was “getting screwed.” But if two people buy the same car, at the same dealership, on the same day, and one pays $4,000 more simply because they didn’t know better… What would you call that?

A Sales Manager told me I’m “putting millions of Americans out of jobs.” In the same breath, he called the car buying process a “little inconvenience.” 4+ hours. Different prices for different people. Thousands in price swings. That’s not an inconvenience. That’s leverage imbalance.

Dealers say manufacturers don't want direct-to-consumer. Ford's CEO said "100% online, non-negotiated pricing, direct to customer." VW is spending $2B on Scout to go DTC. Mercedes already did it in Europe. They don't want it though right?

If I succeed at my mission, Delivrd won’t need to exist anymore. And I’m completely okay with that. I didn’t build this to protect a job. I built it to fix a broken experience. If one day buying a car is fully transparent and nobody needs help, that means I helped change a billion dollar industry. That’s a win.

If dealerships provide the best value, they do not need protection. Consumers will choose them. The market decides.

A dealership manager compared buying a car to buying bread.A $50,000 purchase. Compared to bread.Except the bread doesn't come with a $4,000 "freshness protection package" at the register.

@TomislavMikula have you been able to find a dealer that would be willing for a sit down convo with you (non confrontational) where an honest discussion could be had on the car buying experience?

A dealership owner called my $1,000 service a "scam." His dealership charges a $900 doc fee + $500 mandatory LoJack. That's $1,400 in hidden fees before you even negotiate. What Do You Think?

A car salesman charges a $1,995 markup on a Toyota RAV4. A RAV4. One of the highest-volume vehicles in America. Then he called my customers "sheep" for paying me $1,000 to save them time energy and money. $1,000 to save thousands = sheep. $1,995 for nothing = good customer.
