Bike share ridership has soared annually over the past five years. In 2020, 2.9 million rides were logged. By 2024, that figure sat at 6.9 million. 7.8 million rides occurred last year – 231,000 of them involving first-time riders, a 39% increase from 2024. Cycling is growing - and our city is better for it. #OneLessCar globalnews.ca/news/11725454/…

Ford is destroying TORONTO's waterfront. What has mayor Chow done? NOTHING. Mute. Council? Mute. Civic leaders? Most mute. These are NOT legal issues. Mayor Chow should make them a POLITICAL ISSUE, regardless of legality. • Gardiner • ON Place • Exhibition Pl. • Is. Airport

Premier Ford says his plan to give teachers $750 cards for classroom supplies is the “greatest thing” he’s done for public education. Critics say the $66M investment doesn’t come close to closing a $6.3B funding gap & basics like crayons & tissues should be a given, not a gift.

The Science Centre. Ontario Place. The Toronto Islands. Exhibition Place. Greenbelt. The Ford government keeps stealing from the people - and his friends are getting rich. We must take a stand. I want a province where tax dollars are actually spent on priorities, local governments are respected as partners and the focus is on you.

Ezra Klein: "Having AI summarize a book or paper for me is a disaster. It has no idea what I really wanted to know and wouldn't have made the connections I would've made. I'm interested in the thing I will see that other people wouldn't have seen, and I think AI typically sees what everybody else would see. I'm not saying that AI can't be useful, but I'm pretty against shortcuts. And obviously, you have to limit the amount of work you're doing. You can't read literally everything. But in some ways, I think it's more dangerous to think you've read something that you haven't than to not read it at all. I think the time you spend with things is pretty important." @ezraklein

From Ezra Klein, more true than ever. You would not believe how many shortcuts everyone else is taking. In many areas, you can get way ahead of everyone just by doing the work. More true than ever now, when more people are shirking and AI lets you do 10x if you try. 1/

@bowker_john Was it prompted by not knowing what to do with all the soil & rock excavated for the Ontario Line? Past subway construction "fed" the Leslie St. spit.

🔊 SOUND UP 🔊 It’s true, an Elephant never forgets 🐘. This is Darrick Thompson. He left his career as a Toronto firefighter to devote his life to caring for Elephants at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. He had to leave them for 14 months due to a family emergency. He couldn't have expected this upon returning. 🎦 Credit: @ElephantNatureP.

Here is the moment when Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslaw Sikorski reminded America, UK, France and damn Russia that they guaranteed Ukrainian security and borders in 1994🔥👏 Sikorski: “As you know, Russia, the USA, and Great Britain guaranteed the security of Ukraine and its borders. In exchange for Ukraine giving up what was then the third largest arsenal of nuclear weapons in the world. In 1994. So you have an obligation to Ukraine to help them defend their freedom.”
