BYU fans are upset that Rob Wright hit the portal.
He's a 6-1 scoring point guard. Look at NBA history. That archetype isn't cashing out at the next level. So yes, he should squeeze every dollar he can out of college basketball. You'd do the exact same thing at your job if your value doubled overnight.
Remember when guys used to transfer because they weren't getting minutes? We're not talking about minutes anymore. We're talking about real deal money.
NIL and the portal killed loyalty. It's whoever pays me the most, every single time, until they put real parameters on it.
Don't hate the player. Hate the system.

WildUte is right. BUT… this is less a consequence of “moving to the Big 12” than it is a consequence of not having USC, Oregon, and Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Nebraska in your conference. The Big 12 is the leftovers conference. It is what’s left of the PAC 12/Big 12 after all the big brands left. It isn’t just Utah that has experienced viewership declines. It’s all of us.
