@mossmouth This is how I feel about mewgenics. I loved it, but it got too hard, I will never beat it, but thats ok. I have almost 200 hours in it and i enjoyed it. The same thing happened with spelunky 1. But after playing spelunky 2, I went back and beat spelunky 1 first try lol

IMHO there are certain types of games that allow the player to overcome odds that feel "impossible". In those games, the developer may choose not to include dynamic difficulty settings, in order to encourage exploration and also emphasize personal growth over "beating the game".

@ConfessionsMew I just went back to playing isaac. Im sure edmund wanted to make the game hard and he did. So hard, its not fun for me anymore.

@Splitgate @PlayEmpulse I remember begging for battle royale on the first splitgate game. I posted quite a few times because my friends and I were enjoying the game but wanted to try a new mode. Then one day you made a post explicitly stating you would never release battle royale. I was done there out.

@ConfessionsMew @Flux_Flx_Fy But the whole point was that it was fun for me. Me having my fun, had no impact on your fun or vice versa. I still died all the time. Like my person that takes dead cats has taken in hundreds of cats. I wasnt good by any means. Any help was appreciated.

@Totalpackage2k @Flux_Flx_Fy So you wanna go each run with the same passives, spells and mutations each time, most likely with combos that trivialize the battle without an actually rewarding gameplay out of minmaxxing your way into clearing the encounters. All of that after farming for the mutation room

@ConfessionsMew @Flux_Flx_Fy Maybe some people used it that way. I had a bunch of different cats passing down all sorts of different stuff to different cats. It still was never the same. I was not efficient in breeding. I mainly wanted the body parts to pass down so i inbred for Dice tail and clown lips.

@ConfessionsMew @Flux_Flx_Fy It doesnt remove the fun at all. Its literally the main fun with breeding. Being able to make strong cats is whats fun for some people. If other people dont wanna do it that way, they don't have to. Simple as that

@ConfessionsMew To be fair being able to just remove all the downsides of inbreeding with a mutation room was probably way way way too strong. It basically makes the breeding game have zero punishment. Id love for appeal to scale faster though.
