@JoachimMo1985 I traded full time for a year and half. I did okay but you get to a point where even when you win you feel nothing as you know a drawdown is coming. Found it very hard to pay myself and wouldn’t go back. Trading is best alongside a profession where you can’t lose money in a month

Why trading sucks most of the time? If we are up, we aren't trusting the situation fearing the next DD. If we are down, we are worrying about the current DD and the robustness of the strategy - although this gets better the more experience I have.

I wasn't positioned well for this rally, very little exposure + shorts hurting. BUT this is normal for that kind of trading I am doing. Trading sucks 90% of the time. No, 95%. I have to sit and wait.

Weekly recap: +2.32% - it is hard to keep up when the indexes are rallying off a bottom without looking back ($SPY: +3.6%). Anyhow: I am very close to ATHs with YTD: 14.76%, sharpe ratio: 2.42.

8th month of new system and financial year.
Nothing in particular stands out, but luck always plays a factor.. just more diversified edges playing out positively than negatively.
1/35 systems lost$, 2 didn't trade, 32 gained.

End of Jan, fun then volatile month - with more historic single-day market events (NG, SI)! Also month 7 of the new system & financial year. Great start, but don't count your chickens before they hatch and all that.. DD on the last day (metals & stocks).

This is a great article. I don’t think people understand the layers of liquidity in the market. Massive pension schemes, passive fund managers, endowments cannot change their portfolio allocations by 25bps without moving the market. Even pod shops at hedge funds these days are massively creating vol when they get liquidated every other week on their positions. For the disciplined retail trader the opportunities are limitless.

If you see any content on here from ex-multi strategy traders I would seriously question whether they’re actually worth listening to
People leave multistrats in two ways:
1) they do so well they realise they could just launch a fund and then I guarantee you they won’t be on X
Or
2) they blow out and are now using their “experience” to sell stuff
