@Conzzzixfk @h3llcall @ColdBloodShill no one bothered to learn that lego doesn’t operate the way pokémon does and continues printing to demand (for many years if necessary) before they retire a set

Pokemon market in crazy mode. Some of the stuff I’ve sold this week is insane for markup. Just madness in the market atm. I suspect a cooling is round the corner once 30th anniversary and Pokemon Day announcements chill. What a wild start to 2026 in collectibles from OP into vintage pump.

Last year, it was obvious that coding agents had reached a new level of capability. So I peered up the abstraction ladder and realized, obviously, that the next rung on the ladder wasn't writing code, but writing specs. Now I look at the ladder and I realize with similar obviousness: the next rung is something that--in absence of better terms--you might call organizational design.
Ethan Mollick@emollick

Increasingly believe that the next model after centaurs/cyborgs looks like management of an organization. Decisions flowing up from multiple projects, most handled semi-autonomously, but with strategy, direction, feedback, approval made by the human. Not the final state, though.

My only advice to CEOs this year.. Hire tinkerers. Make it high status. Find ones that will explore the edges and (ideally) naturally gifted at teaching people. Empower them to freely roam across the org and fix large problems that can be automated. All your execs will complain that these tinkerers don’t understand scale or systems (rollout being a favorite word). Listen, and ignore them. Or even better give them budget to hire a tinkerer to achieve their targets. Give these tinkerers ambition, purpose and hard targets and watch them fly.

Patrick Collison on the importance of beauty and craftsmanship when building products “If Stripe is a monstrously successful business, but what we make isn’t beautiful… I’ll be much less happy. The world’s just uglier than it needs to be.” Patrick believes that the impact of beauty and craftsmanship are higher than people think. And not just for aesthetic reasons — it’s rational for customers to buy beautiful products. “What does a beautiful thing tell you?” Patrick asks. “It tells you the person who made it really cared." Agreed. Here's the advice I give my son (who is 14): Some of the most valuable skills are systems thinking, functional decomposition (being able to tackle large problems by breaking them down) and building instinct for how to abstract away complexity for others. This is not going to change. Those things will be even more important in the age of AI.
Pratham@Prathkum

Most of coding was never about writing code. AI is just making this more obvious. You no longer need to recall syntax, function structure, boilerplate code, or even API endpoints. That’s the easy part and AI is very good at it. The hard part was never typing. It was always thinking. And it still is.

The hardest part of strategy or roadmap planning is getting everyone to agreee on the categorization of things. Everyone views the meta in different ways.

@chamath Gold is cool and all but have you looked into Pokemon cards? Rate of supply growth is lower than gold and there's a structural demand tailwind with millennials getting richer. Also easier to store and hide and uncrackable my quantum computing. I'm stocking up on Charizards!

@brandondoyle Early unfortunately We spent a few days in Florence and I was so impressed with all of it. Brooke planned everything out really well and I got to just show up to each new thing without the slightest idea of what to expect next
