The Catholic priest at the church I had been attending just emailed me. He said he is still willing to work with me toward full communion. He has found a sponsor for me named Tom, and he wants to see consistency from me before moving forward. The original plan was for the Easter Vigil, but with less than two weeks left, that is no longer realistic. He now wants to aim for Pentecost Sunday as the target date for me to enter full communion and receive the sacraments. This message came out of the blue, and I am praying seriously about whether I truly want to do this.

My wife and I were talking the other day about potential career options for my 15 yrs old daughter who really struggles in school and is likely not college bound/material. For guys it’s easy… Don’t want to go to college, pick a trade or figure something else out such as a police officer, firefighter etc. It’s not as easy for girls. I think she would do well in sales since she is attractive, has the personality and is extremely social (spends hours everyday talking on the phone to all her friends). For parents with daughters who aren’t on the college path…what are some real, high-income career options you’ve seen work?

Here's the trick: you don't retire until 63. That's 8 years more than the previous tiers. That also means local districts foot the bill for that extra 8 years. Teachers who last that long will be earning higher in salary than ever before. Side note: tenure is not achieved until 5 years in. Used to be 3. Ppl blast on tenure, but they must not have any interest in keeping good young ppl who can develop meaningful relationships over the long term in your community.

Spoke to a teacher from New York. Makes $140,000/yr with a 10 month schedule. Retires in 2026 with ~ $90,000/yr pension + full health benefits. Traditional careers like this can be game changers. Why aren’t more people doing this?!

Some people prematurely reject the idea that we might be in a simulation because of religion but I would challenge that notion entirely. In reality it would basically confirm that God is real to all non-believers. Who else could create such an advanced, incredible simulation?
