@adamscochran “To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.” - D Adams

I think as we’ve seen with Trump, narcissistic psychopaths have ego, and think they are untouchable. The only difference here is Swalwell was much more deceptive about it. He probably thought if Trump can sit in the Oval unscathed, surely he can run for Governor.
Deep Singh Badhesha@DeepNotShallow

It's next level insane that someone like Eric Swalwell knew about all the skeletons in his own closet and still decided to run for Governor? How delusional are these people that they don't think this shit will come up?

@icobeast Tbh most of these feature length sci-fi movies have looked unreal(not in a good way) for quite some time. Entire green screen sets basically oversaw the death of good movies(minus the very rare outlier)

This shit pisses me off. Why are the Democrats so determined to alienate anyone who cares about this technology and asset class? Their position on this in the last election costed them a fortune in fundraising that was just gifted to the Republicans.

For any hospital that says they lose money on Medicare/caid patients, I would LOVE to see the bill of materials and direct overhead attributed to the procedures you lose money on How much you pay for that hip implant, the anesthesia, disposables, the doctors/nurses etc, for the period of time they are working on that hip replacement. The same for any operations or procedures It's crazy that I can't find that information ANYWHERE Please show me how you lose money on Direct Costs at Medicare or Medicaid rates , then we can discuss the value of all the consultants , paintings , beautiful buildings , etc contribute to your inability to make money on the Medies I even bought and went through hospital cost accounting text books and found no real numbers 😂
Aileen Ahiskali@ailley_

Unless you serve primarily Medicare/Medicaid patients and your hospital loses money on every single admission. We charge whatever we want, doesn’t mean we’ll actually get anything. Our safety net hospital is fighting to keep its doors open because others take advantage.

To think Vance pretended to be a thoughtful political figure, writing for Catholic outlets like The Lamp, when he displays now the most dishonest, immoral behavior daily. This goon wants to convince you that a lady who was shot after dropping her toddler off at school was a domestic terrorist. Maybe the title “Hillbilly Elegy” referred to Vance sacrificing his principles and soul to sniff Trump’s throne.
JD Vance@JDVance

I've seen a lot of dishonest coverage from the media during my time in politics, but the last 24 hours may have set a new low.

@nocontextmemes They only take the femoral head and neck when they do a hip replacement. Too many muscles attached to the greater and lesser trochanters and proximal diaphysis to have anything work if they took this much of it.

I went to Best Buy the other day and I was checking out the sound bars and I don't know if this is some kind of fucking sick joke but they have all the sound bars connected to the TV displays, right? And you go and press the demo button for the sound bars And all of them play full blast, no volume control, think like 30 sound bars on at the same time full blast all playing different things. How the fuck am I supposed to figure anything out based on this? Like yeah they make a lot of noise, that's all I can gather from this. This is so fucking stupid. Like how… I…ugh What were they thinking? This doesn't help me at all! I can't tell shit from this fucking shit. What the fuck?

@adamscochran If they had an AI that would file your travel expenses, fill out your bi-weeklyDMRSHi, make PowerPoints, read PowerPoints, do your don’t-rape-people training, do your don’t-drive-drunk training, and watch you when you pee for your random drug screens, it would be super useful

I don’t think we should have AI models that still have hallucinations and make basic errors, involved in any part of military decisions making…. 😬
OSINTdefender@sentdefender

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth today announced the launch of GenAI.mil, a new military-focused platform that places the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the hands of all members of the United States Armed Forces, currently featuring Google Cloud's Gemini and eventually also xAI’s Grok, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Anthropic’s Claude. “The future of American warfare is here, and it's spelled AI," Hegseth said, “AI tools present boundless opportunities to increase efficiency, and we are thrilled to witness AI's future positive impact across the War Department.”

@mcuban 4th question: Who determines when the patient has had (good) enough care and who (besides the patient) is at risk if something bad still happens (e.g. legal liability or reputational harm)?

The economics of health care are very simple. There are 3 questions: 1. What is the Price 2. Who Pays for It 3. Who Takes the Financial Risk When the Patient Can’t Pay We know that insurance companies don’t want to insure. That the real risk takers are the Re-Insurance Carriers. We know that we don’t know prices and Vertically Integrated companies game the economics where they can. Until we know real costs , all this chatter is a waste of time. You can’t know what the risk is if you don’t know what the cost is. And you can’t come up with a plan to deal with costs, payments and risk , whether it’s universal care or something better until we do.
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt? He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.
