As we talk now, we don’t have Ebola in the country. Even the Congolese patient we have been treating has tested negative. @DianaAtwine - PS Ministry of Health #Uganda

This is #Uganda’s truth about #Ebola A Congolese national continues to undergo treatment after testing positive. She was linked to the first case of a Congolese man who’d travelled to the country for treatment, died and was confirmed to have had the virus. His body was sent back to the DRC. Health workers and others who interacted with the two cases were traced and are now in isolation- being monitored. None of them has so far tested positive for Ebola. There are no local infections. Meaning, no Ugandan or person living in Uganda has Ebola. That’s our truth.

Hasn't even been a year and Zohran's governance is having a massive impact on my family. Our daycare was able to open a 15-seat 3K program because of the 2,000 extra seats the admin funded. Everyone we know got in somewhere they wanted. This is gonna save us almost 50 grand.

Uganda is distancing itself from the Ebola outbreak in the DRC, pointing out that the 2 confirmed cases are both Congolese nationals. Why are there so many Ebola outbreaks in Congo? Some people eat fruit bats, experts say

A travel ban aimed only at non-Americans may look decisive, but Ebola risk doesn’t follow passports. It follows exposure. The U.S. needs risk-based screening, 21-day monitoring, rapid diagnostics, and support to stop transmission at the source. Optics won’t contain Ebola. Science will.
