Notice Ethan canโ€™t even address a Priest by their title. He is Father Josiah Trenham. Youโ€™re going to need to get smarter with how you attempt to subvert if you want to be effective with your demonic motives. You can level up little buddy we know you can
Ethan Wayne@EthanWayne2001

Josiah Trenham is clearly trying to use Orthodoxy as a means of promoting his reactionary politics. I donโ€™t understand how some canโ€™t see this. Itโ€™s very concerning, and it is unbecoming of his priesthood and an insult to our Church and faith.

I am sorry that you are ignorant of history but the truth is not hard to find: you do not recite the Nicene creed but a modified version of it which was condemned by the entire Church ( Pope included) in the 9 th century only to be adopted by later popes and kept until this day. Long before Luther there was the first Protestant, the pope, Sergius IV, in 1009, who unilaterally and against all previous councils and popes included the Filioque (โ€œand the Sonโ€) in the Creed (at the part referring to the Holy Spirit) in his letter to his fellow bishops in the East. This was in direct contradiction to the Eighth Oecumenical Council (879) declaration of Faith, which forbade ANY addition to the Creed โ€” the Symbol of Faith which had been accepted and used throughout the Church for 600+ years. Then in 1014, at the request of the German King Henry II who had come to Rome to be crowned Emperor and was surprised at the different custom in force there, that Pope, Benedict VIII, who owed to Henry his restoration to the papal throne after usurpation by Antipope Gregory VI, had the Creed, with the addition of Filioque, sung at Mass in Rome for the first time. Since then the Filioque phrase has been included in the Creed throughout all the Latin liturgical rites. In 1054 the arrogant papal legates โ€œexcommunicatedโ€ the Patriarch of Constantinople for not accepting the addition. uncutmountainpress.com/products/the-aโ€ฆ

After listening to an old Jimbob episode, it really hit me: most Protestants โ€” especially Southern Baptists โ€” have been thoroughly brainwashed about the true story of the Church. We were taught the early Church was basically independent Bible-only house churches that looked just like a modern SBC congregationโ€ฆ until Constantine came along and โ€œinventedโ€ Catholicism. Then the Reformation supposedly recovered the real faith. Reality check: the first centuries had bishops in apostolic succession, the Real Presence in the Eucharist, infant baptism, veneration of saints, ancient liturgy, and the Church authoritatively defining the canon of Scripture. Read the Church Fathers โ€” Ignatius, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, Cyril of Jerusalem. It doesnโ€™t look like a Texas Baptist church. It looks Orthodox. I grew up Southern Baptist. I bought the revisionist history that skips 1,500 years to sell the Reformation as a โ€œreturnโ€ instead of a break from the historic Church. If youโ€™re still there, read the primary sources yourself. Itโ€™s uncomfortable. It was for me too. But truth matters more. I eventually became Orthodox. Best decision I ever made. Whatโ€™s one thing in early Church history that surprised or shocked you when you studied it unfiltered?

Before I go line by line on this, remember his burden of proof is that Muslims and Christians WORSHIP the same God as asserted dogmatically by CCC 841. It is sophistry to show a vague mention of Muslims and Christians in the same sentence and assume this meets the burden of proof: Patriarch Bartholomew: No mention of worship in this quote, rather merely pointing out a common referent. Patriarch Theodore II: I visited the source on this quote and it is not a verbatim quote, it is a summary of what was said. As of now there is insufficient evidence that this is what was said or implied. orthodoxtimes.com/patriarch-of-aโ€ฆ Patriarch John X: This quote is about 7 steps short of his burden of proof. No mention of worship or same God. Patriarch Theophilus III: Again this is well short of his burden of proof. Patriarch Kyrill: This, similar to the first quote, points out a common referent but not common WORSHIP. Patriarch Porfirjie: Are you kidding me Lewis? This quote is literally just saying the Christians would offer prayers at their altar for the Muslims. Patriarch Daniel: Again, common opinions? This is the best you got Lewis? Patriarch Daniil: So your point is he met with people to help with humanitarian efforts for both Christians and Muslims? Seriously? Patriarch Ilia II: Yes Muslims are brothers in humanity, what does this have to do with us worshipping the same God? As you can see, not a SINGLE quote here meets his burden of proof posited in his own doctrine found in CCC 841. This post is nothing but sophistry and total cope that his church DOGMATICALLY asserts that Muslims are โ€œfirst amongst those whom the plan of Salvation includesโ€ and โ€œadore the true God alongside Christiansโ€.

(Not interested in a text debate with you, but wanted to offer clarification) I believe that this was from an interview with an Orthodox scholar on the subject. In which it was actually him that made this statement and I repeated it back to him as a good point. However, if you watched the entirety of the interview you would have seen Dr Fr Patrick O Grady PHD and Professor at the Antiochian Seminary clarify that Christ becoming a โ€œcurseโ€ is referencing Christ taking on humanity, needing to eat drink, suffer etc. In addition in the Orthodox Church our atonement model is that of the entire economy of Christ- per our councils. I.e. Blachernae. According to the council of blachernae 1156-57 which anathematizes specific groups that oppose our atonement model of the entire economy. "Synodikon: "To them who invent and introduce intervals of time into the reconciliation of human nature with the Divine and blessed nature of the lifegiving and wholly inviolate Trinity, and legislate that we were ***first reconciled to the Only-begotten Word by His assumption of humanity and then afterwards to God the Father during the salutary Passion of the Saviour Christ... *** [contrary to the] blessed fathers who taught that the Only-begotten reconciled us to Himself through the ***entire Mystery of the Economy***...Anathema"

St. Gregory Palamas (1296-1359): Brutally taken out of context by Latin schismatics. Aside from my post yesterday, here is further evidence of him explicitly saying they do not worship God, but serve Satan: โ€œThey have turned away from the true light and embraced a shadow, calling it God, but it is not He whom we worship.
