Most Reformed folks are reluctant to talk about the Holy Spirit, walking in the Spirit, prayer, fasting, demons, angels, impressions...They think they'll be accused of being a charismatic. So what! Just point them to the Puritans, Covenanters, Spurgeon, Reformers, etc.

-The Apostles' Creed 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 the 3 persons: I believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. -The Nicene Creed 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 the 3 persons: begotten, proceeding. -The Athanasius Creed 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 possible errors about the 3 persons (one God, 3 persons).

There’s a double meaning to this book title when you look at who wrote it.

The great Scottish divine Thomas Halyburton on his death bed, 1712, was "greatly concerned for Scotland, lest a dry, formal, and merely rational religion should prevail." One of his last prayers was thus- "The operations of the Spirit of God are ridiculed in this day, but it we take away the operations and influences of the Spirit of God in religion, I know not what is left. O! that this generation would awake to seek after the quickening influences of the Spirit. O! for a day of the downpouring of the Spirit from on high!"

So encouraged by how the Lord uses things. Been meeting tonight with pastors in Sri Lanka and Italy about plans for the Sinhala translation of Apostolic Theology. Praying it will be a blessing to many.

A pastor's job is not to change people, hold their broken lives together, or activate their wills to act. His job is to prayerfully bring God's Word to bear upon their lives while trusting the Holy Spirit to make them (and him) not just hearers but doers of it.

Anyone able to tell me why עֶ֫רֶב (e.rev) is translated ‘late afternoon’ in 2 Sam11:2 in the ESV? Other translations opt for ‘evening’ and other occurrences of עֶ֫רֶב in the ESV are translated evening/twilight. @crossway
