I think I’m out yall. This ain’t for me anymore. Need to start over. Fresh. It’s going to be an interesting year for sure. But I think I’m done with working for other people. I had an amazing 4 years in web3. @MetaMask was such a great team to work with and @Consensys was easily the best company I ever worked for. Still very much excited about Ethereum, Solana and a multichain web3. But I need to be present for my family, my grandkids, my parents as they grow older. I think it’s one of the best time’s to go solo. Who knows, maybe I come crawling and begging back. lol I’m starting my own business that allows me to be more creative. Wish me luck!

I just wrapped up my first day as a devrel engineer at the Solana Foundation! ☀️ This might be surprising to a lot of you considering I was very into the EVM ecosystem over the past few years 👀 so I wanted to write why I made this decision Why Solana? 💜 - Payments. I've been a bit obsessed with this recently (as you may have noticed) and no chain is better suited for this than Solana - It's an incredibly interesting design space. The SVM was built from the bottom up to be fast while the network remains decentralized, and it is a very different intuition than EVM. It's fun to explore and once I got it I thought... damn, this is just the natural next step in blockchain - Solana has real users from retail to big business. I will get to work with technology that affects millions of people - Fun! Solana already has the payments infra, which is why memecoins chose Solana (Solana didn't choose memecoins). Most of the fun stuff I do with crypto is on Solana - Fun fact for my privacy buddies: did you know the Token Program on Solana (similar to ERC20 on Ethereum) has confidential payments built in? ZK is a thing on Solana, but there is very little content about it. I'll get to explore this publicly and I invite you to join me! Why Solana Foundation? ⚡ - The Foundation has a vision and they are laser focused on achieving it. They want to build a blockchain that is perfect for what we already use blockchain for - DeFi and payments. And they want people to actually use it. They don't listen to the other noise in the ecosystem - They genuinely want to erase their existence. Even after just being here for a day I've seen how so many projects are being entrusted to the ecosystem rather than handled by the Foundation themselves. It's written into the values of the Foundation - The org is pretty flat and everyone has a lot of trust and autonomy to do what we believe is right for Solana. They are a small team considering how large the ecosystem is, there is no time for needless bureaucracy - The devrel team is full of incredible engineers. It's a hard protocol to learn and an even harder protocol to teach. The devrels own the developer experience end-to-end and are constantly shipping What I'll be doing 💻 - Lots of developer experience improvements. I will mainly be in-the-weeds with the JS tooling and Anchor framework. I want to make it as easy, and eventually easier, to build on Solana than EVM - Building apps and talking about them. For me to improve devex, I have to build. So I'll be building some cool things, probably within payments, UX, and ZK, and creating content about how I built them I've been exploring Solana dev for a while, but I'm still pretty new. There are a lot of improvements to be made and I am super excited to tackle this full-time. So if you're interested in watching me build in public and exploring the design space - follow me here!
