A Restore Britain Government would back British drivers. How? Raise the speed limit on motorways to 80mph. Remove all 20mph zones, other than those outside schools or areas with vulnerable individuals. Our current 70 mph speed limit was implemented decades ago, for a completely different type of car with completely different capabilities - far lower safety standards, poorer braking, and less advanced handling. It is unnecessarily slow, plenty of other countries sensibly allow for more. 80mph is faster and fair, and Restore Britain would do the unthinkable - trust people to get on with their lives without such overbearing state interference. It boosts business, backs drivers and gets Britain moving. Support Restore Britain to make it 80.

@dresserman God I hated that stuff. Sure looked great for two seconds after it got put out, then looked like rubbish when it came out, normally with all the SELs, and promptly got removed. Waste of time.

Real talk; these mobile epanel totems at York are very good. Looks like @LNER / @john_grainger are onto something! Just needs a little more contrast (backlit, maybe?) and Rail Alphabet 2.

Pompey Harbour last year. 8 car empties came in, Driver released the doors. Train pretty much full and headed towards Fratton with football crowds waiting.
5 mins later had a call to say the driver didn’t stop to pick up his guard, and that the service was cancelled…

@CraigTheTrain @AnonSocials @rose_phil @railnigel If we bring in empties and I not the driver taking it out again, I don't release the doors. The next driver who'll be in charge of that service will do it during their mobilisation. It's best to leave it locked, passengers have a habit of getting on trains that are going nowhere.
