@MarkMeadows Hey give them a break... they only get 4-6 months of vacation every year, plus special TSA escorts and plenty of expensive, well cooked food and government-funded trips across the world! They're struggling day-to-day, can't you see that?

The Senate left for a two-week VACATION without passing the SAVE America Act. Let that sink in. They had the time and they had the votes to debate. But they chose RECESS over RESULTS.

Wife just shared something profound she saw: If, after life, you go to hell, then life is the closest to heaven you'll ever get. If you go to heaven, then life is the closest to hell you'll ever get. 😳🤯

@Mavs_FFL I've struggled to wrap my head around this whole dispute. Here's a Grok explanation of what's going on for others in my position. This sounds like they just need a family mediator. AAC is awesome and I'd hate to see the area decimated by this. x.com/i/grok/share/a…

Right? At the very least, Tolkien could have included someone who willingly dies for his friends and comes back to life, or maybe a king who takes his place on the throne to bring peace and prosperity, or someone born in obscurity who bears the weight of the world.

I have no idea if this ant thing is actually fact. But this is a good analogy anyway.
Dan Burmawi@DanBurmawy

There is a species of ant that approaches the edge of another colony, kills a single worker, and then takes on the dead ant’s scent. For ants, scent is everything. Wearing that scent, the intruder walks in with no resistance. The workers pass by without concern. The intruder moves inward, toward the queen, then It sprays the queen with a different scent that makes the workers turn on her. Then they surround her and kill her. The intruder does not need to fight anyone. The colony does the work itself. Once the queen is gone, the intruder reproduces. The true invader is no longer an intruder. It is the future. This is how ideological takeover works. A destructive foreign ideology takes the scent of familiar ideas and walks in as if it belongs. It speaks the native vocabulary, justice, equality, compassion, rights, progress. It uses these words and quietly changes what they point to. Then it moves inward. It alters how foundations are perceived. Responsibility is made to smell like cruelty, law like oppression, borders like hatred, tradition like danger, history like guilt. At that point, the civilization turns on itself. Its courts, universities, churches, media, and bureaucracies begin treating their own foundations as threats. They believe they are defending the system. They are enforcing what now smells legitimate. They do not see the intruder because it sounds exactly like them. And when the founding principles are finally removed, discredited, dismantled, erased, the foreign ideology does not need to conquer anything. It inherits what is left. The queen is gone. The colony is no longer itself. The most effective conquest is the one that convinces a society that its own foundations are the enemy, and that killing them is an act of virtue.

@CoryBooker I am not stupid, Cory. I've changed my last name more than once; you keep your birth certificate, with your maiden name on it, and then you use it to confirm your identity for your marriage license, which establishes your new last name, which you then use to get a new SS card.

@ZannSuz Eh. The originals up until movie 6 were epic, & the casting was brilliant. This looks ok. Except for sallow Severus. Ironically, in trying to be "diverse", the casting director created a black villain for 6 7/8 of the series. Should have made him Sirius, Lupin, or Mad-Eye.

The USPS has been a disaster, consistently losing money. FY 2023: -6.5 billion FY 2024: -9.5 billion FY 2025: -9 billion On top of that, the USPS has been hiring foreign CDL drivers, making America's roads more dangerous. Americans deserve better. washingtonexaminer.com/policy/finance…

He would fit better in any of the following roles: Cornelius Fudge Mad-Eye Moody Sirius Black Remus Lupin All of those characters have significant roles & would fit a black actor better than Severus Snape. Perhaps most fitting would be Sirius, not bc of name, but if this actor is supposed to be good looking, so was Sirius.

The reason you can't cast Snape as black is that Snape is an uncool sniveling little dork and no one is going to buy that an attractive black guy is an uncool sniveling dork
Hogwarts Files@HogwartsFiles

This shot looks good—but all that attention to detail risks going down the drain with Essiedu as Snape. Severus Snape, as written in the original books, is unmistakable: a gaunt, sallow-skinned man with a marble white face, skin the colour of sour milk, a hooked nose, greasy shoulder-length black hair, and cold, penetrating black eyes that give him a perpetually bat-like, shadowy presence. His very appearance is meant to evoke unease—someone who seems to glide rather than walk, wrapped in billowing black robes, embodying bitterness, austerity, and an almost gothic severity. Snape isn’t just any character—his physicality is deeply tied to his personality and narrative weight. He is described as pallid, withdrawn, and emotionally guarded, with a sharp, intimidating demeanor that reflects years of inner conflict, resentment, and secrecy. Every detail, from his hooked nose to his curt expressions, contributes to the way students fear him and the way readers perceive him as morally ambiguous. @HBO @wbd @StreamOnMax @jk_rowling @Caseybloys — if Essiedu is indeed part of the show, hopefully you’ve taken fans’ concerns seriously and considered placing him in a different role. Snape is too iconic, too precisely described, and too central to reinterpret without losing something fundamental. Fans aren’t asking for perfection—we’re asking for fidelity to the character as written. Please #recastsnape with an actor who more accurately reflects the original depiction from the #HarryPotter books.

Senate Republicans never had any intention of passing the Save America Act. And there will likely not be any other votes of consequence between now and the midterms. Make no mistake, John Thune and his leadership team have betrayed the American people and their president. And they don't care - not one bit. They sabotaged the president's agenda - from day one. Their behavior may likely cost Republicans the House and the Senate. And they deserve to lose. However, President Trump does not deserve to be impeached and that's exactly what would happen if the Democrats regained control. So, we can't let that happen -- for Donald Trump's sake. Let's spare President Trump and the First Lady the agony of endless investigations and trumped up charges. Reelect the gutless guttersnipes. We can deal with the jackassery of Thune and his cowardly band of traitors in 2028. Our president deserved better. And so did America First voters. We got screwed by the Republicans.

@bookworksbyday Ok... the Squad is in the House, not the Senate, & he would be in the Senate. Also, a one-off win doesn't mean he'll win next time. Assuming Texas stays red, of course. The actions of Cornyn & Thune over time, including stalling SAVE, make keeping Texas red harder.

✭ 🇺🇸 The Spoonster@USASpoonster

@toddstarnes Vote for every House R to prevent impeachment. Skip voting for every incumbent R in the Senate. In TX, I'd rather have one 6-yr term of Talarico than another term w/Cornyn. And that's saying a lot, bc that's so repugnant. But if that's the only way to eject an incumbent, 🤷.

@Dumbass1979 @toddstarnes Impeachment only takes place in the House. Hence my "vote for house Rs" statement. It takes 67 Senate votes to remove a sitting president after impeachment. High bar, & not likely to happen. Still, hold the House, there's no impeachment.

@USASpoonster @toddstarnes Can’t do that! If REPs lose the House, Trump will probably face impeachment. And if you vote DEMs into the Senate, Trump WILL be impeached!
