Massachusetts Man Convicted of Violating U.S. Sanctions Against Iran: Scheme Involved Sending Sensitive U.S. Electronic Components to Iran “This guilty verdict demonstrates the National Security Division’s commitment to holding accountable those who violate U.S. sanctions against Iran,” said Assistant Attorney General John A. Eisenberg. “For years, Sadeghi conspired to and did send sensitive microelectronic parts from the United States to Iran through a company in Europe despite receiving training on U.S. sanctions and export law. The National Security Division will continue to pursue those who, through unlawful export and deception, threaten our national security.” 🔗: justice.gov/opa/pr/massach…

An indictment was unsealed today in the Northern District of Ohio charging three Russian nationals and two related “bulletproof hosting” companies for their roles in cybercrimes against U.S. victims, causing tens of millions of dollars in losses. “From their overseas haven, these defendants ran the criminal infrastructure that powered attacks on critical institutions across our nation,” said @AAGDuva. “Their actions put the American public at risk. We will continue to dismantle these networks and protect our critical infrastructure from cybercriminals at home and abroad.” 🔗: justice.gov/opa/pr/three-r…

Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Center 16 cyber actors continue to exploit poorly configured and vulnerable networking devices worldwide, targeting devices across critical infrastructure sectors. These vulnerabilities can give hostile actors access to the systems that power essential services Americans rely on every day, including communications, energy, financial services, healthcare, and government operations. Today, the FBI, CISA, NSA, DC3, and international partners released a joint cybersecurity advisory providing network defenders with tactics, techniques, and procedures to more fully understand mitigation actions to counter the threat. The FBI will continue to work with our partners to expose this activity and hold actors accountable. Learn more: ic3.gov/CSA/2026/26071…

An honor to host the Pakistan Ministry of Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, here at Headquarters – the @FBI deeply appreciates their support as we protect US interests in the region. Important discussion surrounding facilitating resources and specialized training to combat counterterrorism financing and cyber investigations both at home and abroad. Our partnership is critical and we look forward to more success ahead.

Over the weekend the Foreign Transfer of Custody is the 23rd such removal in just the last month – a historic run for this FBI in returning and repatriating alleged criminals to face American justice. The subject Abdullah Anwar is allegedly part of a money laundering network that has been linked to over $1 billion in losses over a 5-year span - on the run since 2021 after FBI Dallas undertook a sweeping, global operation targeting fraudulent identity production operations, counterfeit device factories, transit/cargo theft rings, and more. The investigation resulted in Anwar ultimately being indicted on charges of conspiracy to transport stolen property, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. While Anwar fled the country after the indictment, thanks to our brilliant partners, CIRG personnel, and more – he is on the run no longer.
