“We are dismantling Gaza, leaving it in ruins with unprecedented destruction, and the world still hasn’t stopped us.” He says with his own mouth what we must pretend to not see.
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

🚨Smotrich: Gaza Aid Is Just Enough to Avoid ‘War Crimes’ Charges While We ‘Annihilate’ the Strip Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich gave a speech Monday defending Israel’s strategy of mass devastation in Gaza, saying humanitarian aid is only being allowed in “so the world does not stop us and accuse us of war crimes.” The goal, he insisted, is to “conquer, clear, and stay” until Gaza is dismantled beyond recognition. ▪️ On aid, Smotrich said only the care minimum will be allowed: “A few bakeries distributing pitas… a daily portion of cooked food. Citizens in Gaza will get a pita and a plate of food, and that’s it. That’s exactly what we see in the videos—people standing in line, waiting for a plate of soup.” The purpose, he admitted, is not relief but optics: “It allows the world to continue providing us with international protection.” ▪️ “We are annihilating everything that remains in the Strip,” he declared, “simply because it is one big city of terror.” He described the new military strategy as one of permanent occupation: “No more raids with ins and outs… we are conquering, clearing, and staying until Hamas is destroyed.” ▪️ He welcomed the shift toward targeting Gaza’s civil infrastructure: “The IDF is finally conducting a campaign against the civilian rule of Hamas… eliminating ministers, officials, money changers, and figures in the economic and governmental apparatus.” ▪️ Boasting of the scale of destruction, Smotrich said: “We are dismantling Gaza, leaving it in ruins with unprecedented destruction, and the world still hasn’t stopped us.” ▪️ He added that, personally, he would prefer a total blockade: “Until the last of the hostages returns, we should also not let water into the Gaza Strip.” ▪️ Smotrich endorsed ethnic cleansing as official policy: “The population will reach the south of the Strip, and from there, God willing, to third countries, as part of President Trump’s plan.” ➡️ Drop Site’s @JeremyScahill unpacks all this and more in his latest report: “Gaza Aid Scheme Offers Israel Symbolic Cover to Finish the Genocide.” Link in reply.

An event featuring a panel of Israeli soldiers is scheduled to happen in the Toronto area this week - the second such event in as many months. @ICJPalestine-Canada has filed a complaint with @CanBorder requesting that the soldiers be denied entry to Canada. Here is why. 🧵 1/7

“israel” was not “singled out” — this radiologist is lying. Zionist racism and exceptionalism has allowed him to completely erase atrocities committed on the African continent (eg 🇸🇩🇨🇩) Anti-Palestinian racism amongst medical experts in Canada has been highlighted all month,
David Jacobs@DrJacobsRad

The University of Toronto Faculty Association just voted to divest from Israel, counter to the university's policy of non-divestment Israel was the only country singled out for divestment. Fortunately, those who object to this decision can send their dues to charity.

The impunity afforded to Israel has atrocious consequences for the people of Palestine, but also to human rights everywhere. We are seeing the same crimes perpetrated at an alarming rate in other countries. Just look up trends in attacks on healthcare, journalists, schools. Act!
Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt@FranceskAlbs

The tiny bodies of children in Gaza, hollowed out by induced starvation, are testimony of the worst humanity is capable of. It is time to impose an arms embargo and sanctions on Israel, and urgently deploy a protection presence made of friendly soldiers (not from states who have supported the genocide). It is time for the UNGA to act under "Uniting for Peace" resolution.

Thank you @KavitaAlguMD for this piece in @Mondoweiss reflecting the desire of people in this country for an end to the genocide and complicity in it.
Kavita Algu@KavitaAlguMD

Thank you @Mondoweiss for publishing my piece: “@JustinTrudeau’ legacy during this genocide has been written, but across the country, the public is calling for change in 🇨🇦 foreign policy.” Trudeau: - cancelled only 10% of open weapons permits directly to 🇮🇱 - continued to allow military equipment to go to 🇮🇱 through loopholes through 🇺🇸 - temporarily suspended funding to @UNRWA despite insufficient evidence of any wrongdoing - did not sanction a single 🇮🇱 military or government leader - censored speech on 🇵🇸 - demonized people protesting the genocide - provided diplomatic and material support to genocide Under his leadership, the 🇨🇦 government was recognized as participants and supporters of the #GazaGenocide by many including @amnesty and @LemkinInstitute. A survey done a year ago showed that 45% of 🇨🇦 already believed that 🇮🇱 was committing genocide and another recent survey showed over half support an #ArmsEmbargo. “Many people do not want Canadian money, resources, and diplomatic support going to these heinous crimes – political choices made as people here in Canada are struggling to find adequate jobs, medical care, food, shelter, and other basics.  Following the atrocities of the Second World War, Canada was one of the countries at the forefront of the creation of international human rights law  – laws that we have watched crumble under Israeli bombardment and siege. Justin Trudeau has written his chapter in history, leading Canada’s involvement in the genocide in Palestine.  Many in Canada are demanding an end to our involvement in what have been some of the most heinous crimes seen in our lifetimes; and want to build a future where all people are treated as deserving of safety, liberation, and justice. It is now up to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney to make this a reality.” Thank you to everyone who supported @vote_palestine. Many across the country hope that you will push forward work to end the genocide and build our communities. @CanadianPM @liberal_party @CanadaFP @melaniejoly @Rob_Oliphant @gary_srp @BillBlair @HonAhmedHussen @AnitaAnandMP @SalmaZahid15 @LeahGazan @HMcPhersonMP @DonDavies @vankayak @JennyKwanBC @ElizabethMay @PatrickBWeiler @SimaAcan @shafqatalimp @faresaalsoud @Chris_Bittle @Shaun_Chen @beynate @iamIqraKhalid @TimLouisKitCon @morricemike @EngAslamRana @JennaSudds @KristinaTesserD @SeanCaseyLPC @alexboulerice @CraigSauve @SameerZuberi @CanArabLaw

People are starving as the IOF continues to block the entrance of desperately needed food and supplies into Gaza. This manufactured famine is a public health crisis. Genocide is a public health crisis.
Mondoweiss@Mondoweiss

The UN's World Food Programme, a lifeline for millions of people in Gaza who rely on it for food aid, has run out of its food stores. Palestinians in Gaza say that famine isn't imminent — it's already here. mondoweiss.net/2025/04/it-wou…

When it comes to the genocide in Palestine, the silence of most medical and academic institutions has been appalling. Heartfelt support to these students who are engaging in their work with courage and integrity. Support them by registering to attend.

After endless efforts by @UofT @UofT_dlsph to censor and cancel this event, these students of conscious are finally presenting their research on the silence of 🇨🇦 public & global health schools during the genocide in 🇵🇸 Kudos to these courageous students for continuing to speak even when their school has tried to silence them. ❤️ I wish these schools would put as much effort into respecting academic freedom & human rights & ending their involvement in genocide as they put into silencing their students’ and faculty‘s speech on Palestine. Follow @UTPH4P for updates and register for their presentation here 👇🏾

Unity Health is one of the largest hospital networks in Canada. Unfortunately, it has been complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza by suppressing anti-genocide voices, and promoting misinformation and anti-Palestinian Racism.
