Please join Anthropic if you're really really good at what you do. It makes sense to help the company that has the best governance so far keep their lead and extend it (and to reward them being principled) Currently we're in an AI race scenario and the easier it is for them to keep up the lead, the easier it is to preserve safety and negotiate The worst-case scenario is having multiple actors racing head to head because it makes coordination much harder and it is likely that the companies who are slightly behind will skimp on safety With a decisive lead that is still possible but at least, the misaligned models will be less capable by more than a bit Am I wrong?

we are not far from everyone building their own hyper-personalized mobile apps. i just vibe coded my own custom todo & fitness tracker in @GoogleAIStudio with zero Android dev experience, and now it’s running on my phone. still feels crazy🤯

@kevinroose Whatever you decide to do in terms of interviews, multiple voices - I am sure it will be good. Is a definite buy for me when it is released. These are just my highly opinionated hot-takes having listened to around 300 audiobooks on Audible the last 10-15 years.

people who listen to audiobooks: do you 1) like it when the author reads the book, rather than a voice actor? 2) like it when there's stuff other than a straight readthrough (interviews, multiple voices, etc.) that makes it more like a podcast? 3) listen at 1x speed?

fucking windows fuck 6k images and 2 years of my life gone in 3 seconds > tried backing up my pictures by copying them to my computer > didn't work the first time, it just copied empty folders > select the empty folders and hit delete > mfw I realized that I just hit delete on my internal phone storage > ripped out the USB cable > assessing damage > only old pictures were deleted, pheew > no biggie, already have a backup for those > plugged the phone back in to backup the remaining images without hitting delete like a monkey > mfw Windows just continued with the previous delete command > ripped out USB again > it deleted 80% of the pictures from my recent San Fransisco visit :(( > they are not in the windows trash bin, and neither on the phone, don't have cloud backup. it literally just permanently deleted them
