Let's talk about it: Mag Engraving edition.
So, we started engraving mags full time about 5 years ago with The Mag Project with one clear goal: Make functional art. You walk into a LGS, and you see some engraved mags that the owner makes the gunsmith crank out when he isn't busy. It's all purchased art work from the same few folks. Hillary and Obama behind bars, Fuel gauge on windowed PMAGs, and stick figure saying Fuck Biden. We get it, funny funny, but it gets old quick.
And now, it almost seems all of a sudden, we are seeing tons of AI slop designs being photoshopped onto mags, and folks are eating it up. But, that's what drives us to do what we do. We take the time, make our own designs, and make something that stands out from the sea of slop that is out there.
Sometimes, it's hard to get a gauge of how folks like our stuff because of the algorithm overlords. We make something that we think is an absolute banger, and because the first few folks that see it don't like it, or don't engage with it, it gets buried in the sea of other things. Sometimes we make silly things, and it takes off, and sometimes we try to make a serious statement, and it gets nowhere. Sometimes we make amazing art, sometimes we miss the mark.
But the mission remains the same. Make functional art. We design our mags from scratch, and laser engrave them to perfection. No chips, no fading, art that you can run as hard as all your other gear.
That leads us to the Mag of the Month. We still get people on a regular basis saying "I had no idea you were doing such a thing!" And it's because most of the time when we mention it, it gets buried by the algorithm. Not sure why, but it's consistent. We have a mag of the month club, where every month on the 15th, we ship an exclusive mag to all of our members that you can get anywhere else. We take the time, truly focus on the design, and try to put our best work out there for the folks that support what we do!
This month's MOTM, I am calling : "Liberty or Death". I am a huge fan of Roman statue aesthetics. It's a reminder that we go through cycles as a civilization. We have peaks and valleys but even the best times come to an end if we don't work to keep them. One day, our Statue of Liberty will crumble, like all other things. But we have to fight to keep her alive. It's Liberty, or Death. We cannot give up on what made us the greatest country on earth. We have to fight for our liberty. We have strayed from the path, and there are two roads forward. Back to Liberty, or the Death of what we call the American experiment. It's up to us.
So, with all of that said. We don't take what we do lightly, and we don't want to make slop, even if that means not getting seen as much as other folks who crank out tons of AI generated mag engravings. This art is our legacy, and nothing less. We won't budge on the mission, and that's a promise.

I view them as self serving in all ways and it makes it easy to predict the tact they'll take. Whatever makes them look or sound good and the other guy bad, that's where they'll come down. Any stated adherance to morality is serving the same end, which is why taking 'theirs' is bad but taking yours is fine. The theft itself is circumstantial.
Without a spine, it's hard to stand for anything.

@manhattanmaker He'd probably be a tad miffed if I told him at a glance it looks like a 'vette.
