@evbnb_ie @CorkGreens @EamonRyan Eg VW Passat 2014 max 140g/km, avg km pa 15k = 2,100kg CO2 pa. Donate to plant 200 trees pm = 2,400 pa. Tree absorb approx 10kg CO2 pa over 1st 20 yrs so trees you plant in 1 yr absorb 24,000 kg over 20 yrs. That’s 10x the CO2 from the driving. Where are my numbers wrong?

I’m literally in tears. President Trump said, “I want to live to make this country great. That’s why I want to live.” Love him or hate him, there will never be another Trump. America is truly blessed 🙏

@john4brexit You believe in democracy, so you agree that a referendum on rejoining makes sense?

@AspalsLegal @Artemisfornow Have you never heard of MEPs? They are elected, and every EU member country has them.

They are betraying our country. Surrendering our sovereignty. Subjugating our citizens to unelected alien bureaucracy where we have no say. All in defiance of the democratic mandate, the Parliamentary vote and the withdrawal act passed by Parliament. Does that sound like democracy in action in UK?

Had to happen … they want to abolish Sterling. Of course they do. Adding Britain’s economy to the Euro and the City of London, would boost global trading in euros. Making it more competitive with the US$. Labour will say it will give more stability, less currency volatility, lower costs for businesses, and easier trade with Europe. Watch this space …

@Artemisfornow Who wants to abolish Sterling? Stay out of the EU if that’s what the majority want (which it isn’t). The UK had a great deal in the EU before it left… it’ll probably have the standard EU terms if it rejoins.

From day one, the EU project has been about centralizing power in Brussels and stripping member states of control over borders, budgets, and now even their veto. What we are witnessing is the transition from a union of nations to an empire of bureaucrats.
Based Hungary 🇭🇺@HungaryBased

🚨🇪🇺 HUGE! Ursula DECLARES the European Union will move away from Unanimous Voting. "We need to use the momentum of the Hungarian elections, to push for qualified majority voting!" Smaller states have lost their voting power in the European Union!

The idea that Brexit is the cause of the UK’s economic situation, despite money printing on a titanic scale, EU style energy policies that lead to vast energy costs, and massive public spending and welfare costs nobody is prepared to trim, is bizarre.

You clearly have no idea what a customs union is. It will introduce protectionist tariffs which will increase the cost of living for consumers and the cost of materials for manufacturers. It will also destroy our good trade deals including the recent one with the gulf states. Do your homework
Will Forster MP 🔶@WillForster

Tonight, I voted for a UK-EU customs union. We need to restore our trading relationship with Europe and turbo-charge our economy. Whenever I meet with #Woking businesses, they tell me how difficult it is to trade with the EU post-Brexit - that needs to change.

@Bants15481 @ShankerASingham You can finally stop the nonsense of blaming Brussels for your problems, and start blaming Westminster, which was the problem all along.

@UseYour2Neurons @ShankerASingham Than it needs to be? There’s no guarantee to economic success, we could equally have been worse off staying inside the EU. It’s all speculation as any market shows. The problem is that Brexit put the spotlight on our useless politicians, but now we can demand and elect better

@BillyStupple @ShankerASingham Well… not entirely true. There were promises of sunlit uplands 😂. But if you’re happier making the UK poorer and weaker, then I’m happy for you.

@Susan1034456 @ShankerASingham OBR: Brexit cuts UK long-run GDP/productivity 4%. BoE: investment ~11% lower. CBI: major trade barriers hit growth/export.

@Susan1034456 @ShankerASingham Polls show a majority of Brits want to rejoin the EU. UK business and economics organisations also say Brexit is economically damaging. My location is irrelevant, and I agree with the Brits I just mentioned above.

@1Smitty71 @Microinteracti1 The points are that: A) Europe is re-arming. B) It is developing & manufacturing its own tech rather than buying from US companies.

@Microinteracti1 Congrats. All Europe’s startups across the past 4 decades don’t equal one American company—Apple. The US spits out $18b companies before breakfast daily. Keep patting yourself on the back.
