@VRC3512 I think the Centre will permit its ally, the AIADMK, to form the govt with outside support from the DMK and others. This way, both Congress & Vijay will be defeated, and the INDI alliance will be dead on arrival too.

The drama in Tamil Nadu, even 4 days after the election result has been shocking. Is the Hon Governor trying to defeat the will of the people, by not inviting Vijay’s claim ? Or is it complete naïveté on Vijay’s part to think that he would be welcomed, even if he didn’t have the numbers? It appears that he has come to power totally unprepared, he should have had a crack legal team in place. Watching news channels , noted luminary Harish Salve has backed the Governors action, whilst former AG Mukul Rohatgi on a TV show where the Hon Governor was speaking simultaneously, has said that Governor had to invite the single largest party. In the meantime, a mockery of sorts is taking place with AIADMK & DMK having talks to form a joint govt !! If this mockery continues beyond the weekend, we might see Presidents rule which may eventually force a fresh election, which will hopefully result in a landslide for Vijay (but does he have the energy to fight another election immediately ?)
