At an animation meetup yesterday, one thing kept coming up: people shifting from film/commercial work into games.
FX artists going into gameplay/realtime VFX.
Animators moving to in-game cycles.
Freelancers pivoting to cinematics.
Curious, anyone else noticing this trend?

you all keep writing novels trying to rationalize these false equivalencies to avoid the very simple and inconvenient fact that 3D artists create 3D models and AI users don't create anything.

3D digital art has no foundation to criticize Ai art. You don’t have to know anything about the nature of clay to be able to sculpt or “extrude a cylinder” and the tool gives you an ability that you didn’t earn but the artist user is thankful for. You don’t have to know anything about grinding pigments or mixing using color theory to “eye dropper” a color in Photoshop. Digital artists have no ground to criticize Ai and are perhaps the most arrogant artists to ever exist… which is an impressive feat. When I do stop motion I don’t push an “inverse kinematic” button, I move the form to emulate physics one frame at a time. I hand sculpt the face to change expression but these Ai critics digitally print 6,000 different faces then slap a mask on the puppet instead of sculpting. It’s okay, we’ve always taken short cuts, just like Ai. Even with stop motion you don’t have to draw the character because the puppet exists so you don’t have to worry about it going “off model” or “losing volume”. When I 2D animate it’s the highest difficulty to maintain volume, though digital allows me to undo frames and edit on the fly which I couldn’t do with a 35mm camera (I shot with the camera Kubrick used on 2001 a Space Odyssey I owned in the 90s). Art is a history of short cuts, innovation even having other artists so most of the work for your art. To go after Ai kids is beyond arbitrary, white knight virtue signaling and beneath the real spirit of the arts. PS the audience doesn’t care and will devour analogue, digital and Ai if it entertains and communicates truth goodness and beauty.

This could be helpful for artists because of course AI features can be useful...but with Digital Twin...how would you know? The internet defaults to pitchforks.

The wedding TAKING PLACE at The Lodge absolutely used taxpayer-funded resources
Whether they admit it or not, this includes:
✔ Venue (The Lodge)
A taxpayer-owned luxury property with manicured grounds and 24/7 staffing.
If a normal person hired a venue like that? $20–$50k minimum.
✔ Security
AFP presence, secure perimeter, sweeps, staff coordination — all taxpayer-funded.
✔ Staff
Chefs, servers, cleaning staff, grounds staff… these people are already on the government payroll.
They don’t suddenly clock off for a wedding.
✔ Utilities
Electricity, cleaning, water, heating/cooling — all taxpayer-paid.
✔ Opportunity costs
The Lodge was shut down for a private function, effectively turning a public asset into a private wedding venue for a day

@henningsanden Years of 3ds max use have conditioned me to manually save with ctrl + s after every few minutes, so I've never even looked into auto save.

Blender is set to auto save every 2 minutes. It just crashed and the latest auto save was 20 minutes ago.
Am I misunderstanding how auto save works?

This is supposed to be the same truck.
The truck is the main character, the focus of the entire production and it's janky, uncontrollable garbage. How is this acceptable?
We suspect that all the AI generative software companies gave free access to this studio to "make" this commercial.
Word is that it still took 100 people and over 10 thousand prompt/renders to cherry pick the "best of the best" that we're seeing here. And it's still trash.

AI creators don’t understand that the Coke ad is garbage in the same way that McDonald’s consumers don’t understand the food is garbage. And you can try to explain it, but their response is always like “oh so you don’t like paying less for things?” Or “oh it bothers you that anyone can afford a Michelin Star meal now.”
