URGENT APPEAL ~ for a foster-to-adopt home for little Lucy, a blind dog. We realise these are rather specific requirements and so would really appreciate your help in reaching the right person(s). We are keen to move Lucy to a foster home where she is very likely to be adopted by her foster carer, so that she doesn't have to be moved again, hence this foster-to-adopt appeal. Oldies Club will arrange transport to her new foster home and cover the cost of any vet care she might need while in foster, until she is adopted Lucy is a 12-year old Jack Russell Terrier, who originally came into Oldies Club care a year ago. She was adopted by her foster carer, but sadly is no longer happy there due to the location of the home and the need to be walked where there is loud traffic noise, which increasingly frightens her Lucy loves to sit on your lap and enjoy very gentle strokes, but no cuddles, thank you very much! Due to being blind, she can be startled and does have some quirks. If you are going to touch her, you need to gently let her know first. She loves adult visitors to the home, welcoming them and bring her toys for them to play with her. Her bed is her safe space, where she is left in peace and where she sleeps downstairs at night (she couldn't manage a full flight of stairs). Lucy loves a car ride and gets very excited! She is fine to be lifted carefully into the car, but is generally not keen on being picked up. She is seeking a home in the countryside, with not too many other dogs around, as she is frightened of meeting dogs. She walks confidently once she has had a chance to mentally map out a regular route and enjoys a good sniff about in peaceful environments . She is only let off-lead in a secure garden. Lucy can be left at home for around three hours, once settled into the home. She is house-trained, active for her age and generally in good health. Sadly his owner recently passed away so Max has come to us to find a new home 💔💔💔 Max is a handsome, crossbreed (he weighs around 32kg) who will be turning 10 years old this February. He is still an active boy who loves to play ball and go for walks. Out on walks we have walked Max on a slip lead, which he walks well on, as he does pull on a harness, I think if you are a slow, ploddy walker he may pull a but more as he has a quicker pace and wants to get all his sniffs in. He will however sometimes pull and can be vocal if he sees another dog, which is something his new family will need to work on with him. Max has shared his home with a cat so could live with another feline friend in his new home. No other dogs. In his previous home Max has been ok around older respectful children, with his size and bouncy nature we wouldn't place him with young children. Max is clean in his kennel, has had no issues being handled and is a lovely lad. We would consider a home without a secure garden for Max, providing they could meet his needs.
