This does not make any sense. How can players be fined for failing to perform? Is there any clause in their contracts with PCB that allows financial penalties on the basis of performance? I don't think there is any.
At most, the PCB can only drop underperforming players in future squads. Failure to deliver with the bat or ball is not a disciplinary breach, it is part of competitive sport.
And on what grounds, fines will be be justified for someone like Sahibzada Farhan, who finished as the tournament’s top scorer? Or for Usman Tariq? And what about those players who played one game and spent most of the tournament on the bench?

PCB has fined cricketers 5 million Rs each for their poor performance in the World Cup. In fact, the decision was made right after the defeat against India. Officials have made it clear to the players that enough leniency has been shown from now on, financial benefits will only come with performance

Unless we remove political influence and personal agendas from Pakistan cricket, we cannot return to the team we once were. This is the darkest period in our cricketing history, and my heart bleeds for it. Incompetent individuals must be removed from office and from the team.
